Legos! And Gargoyle-inspired fics :-)
Aug. 13th, 2005 01:47 amSo I was reading the weekend section of The Post during dinner and Eeeeeep! There's a Lego convention in town! They're having a public expo this Sunday at the Arlington Campus of GMU. I was there just a few months ago for a work seminar/conference so I know the area and I can take the metro there. Which ROCKS!
It's always been one of my dreams to see bigass things made out of Legos. I was in LOVE with Legos as a kid (okay, I still am *points to my Lego Millenium Falcon and Snape & Harry facing off over the map on my bookshelf*) and have never had an opportunity to see this kind of thing. I couldn't convince my friends to go see the Lego Land thing when we were down at Disney World so at least I'll get to see this. YAYNESS! So excited about Sunday. Though now I must get money out. If I'm careful I might just have enough to get there and back with admission and still have enough to go see The Brother's Grimm in theaters when it comes out. And hopefully I'll be paid on Monday (I haven't been paid in a month now... plus that week of vacation, so it's been a LONG while since I had anything going the right way into my bank account) so I can take care of the rest of my monthly bills then.
I watched the second disk of Gargoyles season 1 tonight. *sigh* I loved that show. And I was working on my LotR Legolas fic for 'Confused' just as the episode with John Rhys-Davies guest starring came on. Very inspirational indeed!
My faaaaavorite episode of the whole series just ended. It had some nice scenes with Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis all together at the same time. *giggles* Now I remember why I loved this show so much as a teen. Okay, that and adorable Gargoyles and lots of Scottish stuff. And sooooo much angst. Could there be any more angst? I think not! Nummy nummy nummy.
I actually wrote a sneezefic for that show when I was younger. Gods... ten years ago, give or take. I never actually wrote it down, just wrote it in my head all the time. And while I was watching it again tonight I decided I might try to actually write down what I had so far in my head... what I can remember at least. Might be kind of fun to relive those days of before I knew my interest in sneezing was actually a fetish, or that other people felt like me and wrote this kind of stuff, too. *blushes*
