The good:
I went to the LEGO store at Patomac Mills today for the first time. It was awesome. They're having their 75th anniversary special, which ends this weekend, so I got a bunch of tiny bags of bricks that would have cost $3-6 each for only $0.98 each. I got a brick separater and I got a gray baseplate, which I needed badly in order to start half of the project I have in mind. They also had a small "fill a cup full of bricks" station and I filled mine up about halfway full of little pieces and then the rest of the way with blue blocks. I'm going to need a lot of blue blocks. heehee
The bad:
I got home and looked at the receipt and found they accidentally charged me for TWO baseplates instead of just one. CRAP! There's nothing to be done about it (I can't prove I didn't get two) but I'm annoyed I didn't think to check the receipt before leaving. Usually I estimate what my purchases will be before I leave a store, but people and kids were everywhere, and my mother was carrying half the items and it was chaos and I just didn't check. Grr. I feel dumb. If I'd known they were going to charge me for two, I definitely would have taken two (I was considering doing just that). *sigh*
I'll get over it, though. It's only $10 in the long run. And my parents- who are the nicest, most fair parents in the whole world- gave me my first check last week. They bought my sister a car so to make up for that, they're giving me the equivalent amount of money in increments. This first check more than covers what I normally pay every month toward my student loan, so that's awesome.
I've been buying a LOT off eBay lately. Okay, not a LOT, but more in the last few weeks than I ever have before. I bought a few more Harry Potter LEGO sets, several pounds of LEGO blocks, and 3 Harry Potter POA costume cards (picture from movie and swatch of fabric supposedly from the costumes): Harry from his Patronus training, "Cedric" flying in the Quidditch match, and Lupin as he's turning into a werewolf and Sirius is holding him. *G* I dunno why I bought them... but it's neat touching the fabric and seeing the pictures. Makes me happy.
