I finally got myself a Dreamwidth account for KateKintail. Follow me if you so desire! I'm just mirroring and playing around with it now. Doesn't hurt to have one just in case this whole fandom migration thing happens, right?
Gods, I am SO on a Buffy kick lately, thanks largely to that penalty drabble I had to write. Re-watching Season 3 in order to write that got me thinking about Faith and Spike and then, duh, I was reminded by my KS that they're in a few episodes of Season 7 together so I had to re-watch that whole season. And then I sat in awe, realizing there's no WAY I could ever write characters so amazing and complex. Okay, I know I'm only one person and there were many writers for that show, but still. Amazing. So I sat down and read every bit of Shadowscast's fanfic because she is by far the best writer out there of the stuff I like to read. And now I'm starting on her recs and the Spander Hurt/Comfort archive. Still can't get enough.

I kind of want to watch the whole series from the beginning now... but I lent my boss the Season 1 box set and he's not done with it yet. LOL
And I took a slight detour from that today to read an excellent Legolas & Gimli sea-longing fic that had me in tears at work during my break. And it wasn't until now that I just realized that June 10 came and went and I didn't finish the last part of the fic for Lady K. Gah! I'll get right on that, though.
I was rather obsessed this week with working on two pieces:
1- A stupid pr0ny Neville fic I plan to finish & post on the xnevillelovingx community for his birthday free--for-all portion of the 30 Days of Neville
2- A Xander & Spike fic I started ages ago. I even had a few of you read the beginning and try to help me with it. Well, I've rewritten chunks and added to it. It's at 18 pages now and I feel a little better about it.
And then I realized there was porn battle going on over at Dreamwidth. So that's going to be fun. I write a short Spander fic for that just now.
On the health front, my allergies are better. I'm not dying any more, so that's good. Seems like one or all of the meds the doc gave me worked. For a while there I was more miserable then I've ever been in my life. The only really bad part is that I pulled a muscle in my neck when coughing my lungs out a week and a half ago and it still hurts like heck. Heat and painkillers help immensely but I can't exactly walk around at work with a heating pad on my shoulder/neck/back. LOL
Also, I got an idea for a story involving my fake Wizard Rock characters from the fic I wrote for the SF Annual Challenge. It's all kinds of wonderful. I just hope it comes out the way I want it to when I start writing it.
Are you excited it's Friday? I am!
Weekend plans: writing a whole lot, shopping (ick) because I'm ruining clothes and need new ones, BookCrossing meetup in Maryland on Sunday.
Did I mention I put my name in to do a website for a Wizard Rock group? I'm hoping I get selected because that would be SO of the awesome. But if I don't, I'll be fine with it. Still, if anyone can spare a positive thought or wants to cross your fingers for me, that couldn't hurt any! :-)
I'm going to a web graphics course on Monday & Tuesday for work, though. I'm kinda excited about that. That means I miss the visit from the National Endowment for the Arts representatives who are coming to see us.
I'm going to Philly for a day trip on the 21st. Going to see the Star Trek exhibit and then going to a Wizard Rock concert (Draco & the Malfoys, The Whomping Willows, The Remus Lupins, and Pottercast). Should be a day of spectacular fannish fun!
