Challenge Update
Dec. 28th, 2003 10:25 pmAdded two more stories to the challenge archive yesterday- YAY! :-) It's going to be a grand reveal, I think :-) My coding effort has been slowed significantly thanks to my parents' ancient computer. I have to code in Wordpad because their notepad on Windows 95 is too tiny to accept larger files or allow my to cut and paste large bits in *whacks head against monitor* I won't go into the other 8 things it does to slow the process, but let's just say it's getting a bit annoying! LOL
I finished one of my two (possibly 3) remaining challenge fics today, as well, but now I want to go through and edit and add a few things. It's a little over 40 pages, and I'm thinking about trying for 50 so it fits bunny #20, which would be an incredible miricle, and one I probably won't reach, but we'll see. It's packed with Remus/Sirius goodness... and some cute Marauder moments here and there. But mostly R/S this time.
I also started another short about Legolas and that damn bush he's allergic to... LOL. Poor thing. I just can't leave that little sneezey elf alone! I'm TRYING to drag my sister to see RotK with me, but she doesn't want to see it in theaters for some reason! Blows my mind, that. Okay, so we have a wonderful DVD system with a pretty big digital TV and surround sound... but waiting a year to see it on DVD when it's in theaters now? INSANE! I'm going to see it again with my father this week, with or without her. I'd just rather see it with. Not that I won't have fun with just my father there... it's just that he and I are not the closest and I KNOW I'll be in tears bigtime again LOL!
Anyhoo... I shall go write now :-) Hope everyone's hanging in there! Less than 10 days until the challenges are due! Whoohoo!

Date: 2003-12-29 07:16 am (UTC)I am so, so excited about the next challenge and all the wonderful stories that I am about to be offered for my reading pleasure! Whoo-hoo! I just about cannot wait, and I am the most excited to read the Remus/Sirius goodness one that you promised! Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!
And as for seeing RotK, just drag your sister along. You have already seen that amazing, wonderful, almost too good to be believed movie! You know that she would love it! There is nothing that can beat seeing RotK in the theater, I don't care how good your home viewing is! She has GOT to go with you! I hope she does anyway....My sister-in-law hasn't seen it yet, because my brother thinks those movies are "stupid" and so you had better believe that we (my kids and I) are taking her over holiday break!

Date: 2003-12-29 07:28 am (UTC)I've TRIED dragging her... it's almost impossible to drag a bitchy, stuck-up teenager someplace she doesn't want to go. At least, as a sister it is. And my parents baby her to no end and get mad at me for pushing. She ADORES the movies, and has started reading the books and I'm certain she would enjoy them. For some reason she thinks it's too long. Dunno where she gets that from. I'm dying for the extended version myself and would have liked another few hours added on, personally! But I'll try again on Tuesday- tomorrow Dad's got work so there'll be no dragging until Tuesday at the earliest. I suppose that gives me time to work out a clever strategy, hmm? *G* But I whole-heartedly agree with you- there's nothing so grand as seeing it in theaters, even if people are talking here and there... the picture and sound and the FEELING of experiencing something so stupendous with others cannot be equaled.
As for the challenges... oohhh, I keep reading the story summaries over and over again in anticipation, trying to decide which to read first! LOL Well, that and it makes me feel inspired to finish my own ones :-) I'm trying to add on another 10 pages to my R/S story... *crossing fingers* So we shall see, but it will certainly be ready in time one way or another. I'm looking forward to getting comments on it as well! :-) So thanks!! :-)

Date: 2003-12-30 10:20 am (UTC)ANYWAY... awww... I'm sorry to hear that your muses and schedules aren't working together well. *sniffles* I do hope you manage to write them, but I think we'll all more than understand if you cannot. I have to work at odd hours of the night myself now that I'm staying at my parents' place over the holidays. So I understand. And while I'd LOVE a yummy fic or two from you, it's okay if it doesn't happen. Good luck, though!!!!
