I'm not done coding fics (4 to go) but the challenge group/archive has been released officially! WHOOHOO! Just means I can't read it for another hour or two until I finish coding and watching Queer Eye (LOL) but that's okay :-)

Feedback for 'Time to come in from the cold'

I know it's late, I'm exhausted, and there's no way I'm going to be able to read through all the wonderful challenge fics tonight, but I just couldn't go to bed without thanking you for this beautiful fic!

It's such a simple fic, but it was so well-done it took my breath away! As always when you write this pair, your characterizations are perfect. This is the elf and dwarf I would have given anything to see on the big screen. From the cute teasing at the beginning to the obvious caring and genuine love, and teasing hint of a bit of lust there at the end, reading this fic just made me warm and happy all over.

Of course, that could also possibly be due to Legolas's magnificently drawn-out build-ups! Seriously, I haven't read sneezes that amazing for quite some time...poor elf and his relentlessly tickling nose! It fits perfectly a personal daydream/belief of mine that I think that due to their exceptionally sharp senses, that an elf with a cold would have to deal with a great deal of constant irritation, such that the urge to sneeze bothered them more than it would a mortal. (Nice fantasy, huh? *G*) I would give anything to trade places with Gimli here. *sigh*

Thanks so much! I know I'll sleep well and happy after such a sweet fic...

Awwwww *blushes furiously* I'm dead tired as well, so my apologies for such a pathetic reply, and for not having read your fic yet. I caught bits as I was coding (er, there's a letter, that's about all I know) but I look forward to reading it tomorrow. I haven't actually read *any* of the fics yet, though.

But... wow... thanks for the quick feedback... really makes me feel good, especially as I wrestle with the rest of these stories and the archive. I'm starting to hate myself for doubting the magic of Legolas/Gimli when I first looked into the fandom. It was definitely the books that did it, and I would have loved to have seen more of their friendship (or more in general of them!) in the third movie. Which is probably why I felt it was so important to get this story done. :-) I'm glad you liked the characterizations. I still don't feel like I have them spot-on but I am working harder at it so I'm glad you noticed and appreciated that :-) I just... oohhh the two of them are just too cute together is all. *G* Glad you liked the story. Oh, and the sneezes *G* Okay, so I happen to have a thing for lots of drawn-out, built-up sneezes and I sort of leaned on that a bit more than normal *blush* But I love your explanation of it- and am thoroughly impressed you gave your theory so much thought *G* heehee Makes me not feel so bad for indulging on the build-ups. But gods... sniffley elf in front of the fire... I just had to indulge *G*

Anyway, you're more than welcome :-) I am so incredibly happy so many people- you included!- were so enthusiastic and generous in their writing as well. I'm still feeling a little overwhelmed by the sudden number of stories I must r&r but am glad it worked out so well. So thank you, too!

Thank you! It's actually from One False Step - I don't own the DVDs, so I have to get my caps from online and that (apart from the fireplace scene from CoTG) was the only Sneezy!Daniel pic I could find online.

It had to be the selection. So many well thought out challenges are impossible to resist. :D There's a little something for everyone.

I ended up doing a mini-marathon the other day of SG1 and realized my mistake a few days after commenting on the icon- but thanks for making me feel stupid twice- LOL :-) No, really, it's still a very cute icon, worthy of more squeeing.

I've been thinking of making caps from the video clips I made... I actually made a bunch, just haven't done anything with them. Maybe I should ask whether it would be beneficial to post them? (For whatever use people have for them)

So many well thought out challenges are impossible to resist.
LOL! Or in this case, we came up with something like 20, ditched a few through conversations, then came up with a few more. Wasn't that thought-out(I was afraid if I thought too much, I'd come up with ideas I wanted to use in stories and be biased) but instead of putting them through a huge decision process, we just included all 20 in hopes that people would find *something* that appealed to them! :-) Guess that part of the strategy worked.

Speaking of which, I'm going to have to have a mini-marathon myself. I haven't seen any of the new eps since Evolution II. I'm a bad, bad fan. *hangs head in shame* :P Meep! Aww, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to.

There're loads of screencap sites out there, but more can never hurt. Especially if they're sneezy. ;)

I have a hard time with the Sam/Jack theme(or lack thereof) going on with the new episodes, but on the whole I've enjoyed them quite a lot. A few cheesey moments, lots of humor, lots of drama, and a lot of moments where I'm captivated and in awe. Good new eps. And last week featured a cute sleeping Daniel, so I'm not complaining.

I tend to take a lot of hurt/comfort screen caps, so as long as people don't mind those being mixed in with the sneezing ones, I think I'm safe. Heck, it's my Realm, technically. I can post what I like! Bwahaha! I asked on my LJ but I'll probably go ahead and do it anyway, since I've been contemplating it for a while. :-)

Thank you so very much for all of your work, both the fics you wrote and the work on the archive! It was absolutely lovely to have this to come home to! (You have no idea how eager I was to get back to my computer and see what had come of the challenge fics after having been deprived of access for two weeks!) The site looks lovely, and I've been devouring fics whenever I've been home and awake and still am not done yet. (So many fics to comment on...I'll be working on that for quite a while.)
