tarotgalAh, Fridays... I get my 4-hour block of tv shows in. *snuggles Daniel for looking so cute while he sleeps* I also started another Friday fic. I hope to finish it tonight. It's short. I've been DYING to write a story without dialogue, but that just didn't happen this time around. Maybe next Friday.
Anyway, just watched Monk. LMAO!!! Funniest episode EVER for me! And that's saying a lot! I *adored* the old Monk theme song- and I like the new Monk theme song okay(it's got words, which is cute and all, but the original one was just so... classic, you know?) Anyway, it was a show within a show thing, where Monk was trying to figure out who killed a tv star's wife. And there's a stalker who's following the star around, trying to pass a petition to get the theme song of the pretend show changed back to the original one. I thought it was hilarious that they put that in there, because I've read the official Monk discussion boards twice and both times there were HUGE threads about how you shouldn't mess with perfection, and bring back the original theme song. So, basically, it was a huge inside joke for the show and fans, and a running joke that carried on throughout the entire episode. I couldn't stop laughing. It says a lot about a show that they're willing to make fun of themselves a little, and make fun of their loyal fans a lot, without worrying. *am going to go read the discussion boards again and see what fans thought about it* But, really, I was laughing so hard. Because I was just saying throughout the opening credits this time (as I sang along) how nice it would be to have the original one back. And then the closing credits for the episode had the old theme song, following one last joke about it. *laughs hard* Okay, no one's still reading, I bet, or has any idea what I'm talking about. But, believe me, it's very brave and hilarious all in one :-)
