TG's Realm Updated
Feb. 16th, 2004 01:50 pmI updated TG's Realm this morning/afternoon/whatever you like to call it. I never went to sleep last night so I'm a little punchy on the time issue :-) Plus Yahoo says my hotmail addie is currently bouncing so I'm not allowed to post on any Yahoo groups until it's resolved. Gah! Frustrating!
Anyway... this update contains:
*1 new Lord of the Rings story- Back to Back
*1 new Star Wars story- Forced Communication
*1 new Charmed story(and new fandom page)- Hoping
*348 new screen shots added to gallery
*4 video clips reloaded on request (Superman, Orli)
The new LotR story is the A/L one I was working on that's really more just Legolas... it's a little different... possibly more boring. I dunno. If you have thoughts on it, I'd like to hear them.
The Star Wars story I started back in December and it's a lot different. I was inspired by my family- all of whom were sick when I was there and complained constantly about various symptoms. LOL But, yeah, it's different, too, which is why I'm only posting on my site. The tenses change on purpose based on the narration (basically, it starts in past then the story catches up to the present and stays in present the rest of the way through... I hope that's not too confusing) But if you have comments, I'd be interested to hear them. Just phrase all the bad stuff kind of gently :-) heehee!
Enjoy!

Thanks for such sweet comments about it. I had trouble with the title again... but I think I was right to include something about communication, based on your fb here about the main point of the story. You got it in one *relieved sigh* Thank you for such great thoughts about their roles in the story, and of course I am very glad you liked it and wanted to start with it :-)
I hope *you're* feeling better as well!! *hugs* Thank you :-)
Re:
Actually, I checked the site for the first time, saw an update, and then realized that your post for the site came in after, and I realised that I prolly checked the site, the min that you updated, lol. What timing!

Date: 2004-02-16 11:13 pm (UTC)Okay.
First, Obi. :) I tend to - I won't say 'stay away from' b/c nothing could keep me from a sneezy! SW fic, lol - but read sneezy! Qui with markedly less enthusiasm than sneezy! Obi. I love him to death, but there's just something about a sniffly Obi that does it for me. So I was, as I opened the link, whispering my mantra of "Please let it be Obi-Wan. Please let it be Obi-Wan." and hoping, as I scolled down the page for my customary 'peek before I read the fic,' to find the first italicized "Hhhiisshhh" next to the words "Obi sneezed." Not the case.
But.
But, but, but. I really LIKED it. I mean, a lot. I loved the variance you gave in using the first person pov. While it's nice to be an outside observer, this fic definitely needed an inside Obi's head perspective. The hypersensitivity was a wonderful touch - well, I shouldn't say touch as the entire fic revolved around it, but you know what I mean. I think I mentioned this before, but - next to sneezes - I'm a fever gal, so this kind of fic was right up my alley. It's been a while - knock on wood - since I last felt any of that, but from what I remember - ugh. And poor Qui with his Jedi senses! Aw, I just wanted to snuggle him - but not, because I doubt he'd appreciate it.
'Twas very good. Thank you for sharing it, Hon.
...I have to ask - any chance of seeing a sequel with Obi the Jedi bitten by the bug? Nummy Jedi all sick and hot - with just healing Qui knowing exactly what he was going through...But if such a thing does not coopperate, my imagination is still fully functional and can handle such a thing adequately. :)
I'll be back a bit later with my praise of the sneezy! elf. Mmmm, good.

Customary peek before you read the fic... ah, I know that action well... I'm sorry to have dissappointed you right off the bat, though. I know that feeling as well. I don't want to jinx myself here, either, but I would very much like to write a sneezey!Obi sequel to this story. I think it brings forth enough issues that could use more story to explore.
But, but, but. I really LIKED it. I mean, a lot.
*G* Thank you :-) I'm glad you liked the POV and found it more engaging for this particular story. And the hypersensitivity- well, I couldn't resist inflicting that upon a poor Jedi... seemed just too perfect. I love colds, don't get me wrong, but there's just something about a good strong fever that colds just don't have. So I'm glad that jumped out at you as well *G*

heehee! No, probably not, but I still wanted to snuggle him. Or at least have Obi snuggle him. Something I hope to get out of my system more in the sequel :-) *crosses fingers that story will cooperate* Thanks again- I'm so glad you liked it, even though it wasn't Obi :-)
Yay for sneezy elves!
Date: 2004-02-17 03:10 am (UTC)Thank you also for the lovely image of Legolas's head nodding up and down as he succumbs to sleep...being sleep-deprived much of the time myself, I could totally relate to that! All in all, I really enjoyed this fic, though I think it's crying out for a sequel starting with the daylight and taking us through the worst of Legolas's cold...well...maybe it's just me begging for that sequel, but a girl can try, can't she? *G* Thanks again!
Re: Yay for sneezy elves!
Date: 2004-02-17 04:47 am (UTC)heehee I know how he feels sleep-wise as well. Though, oddly, my head usually goes back instead of forward when I nod off sitting upright. But, anyway, there's just something about a sleeping guy that gets me... yum! And a sleeping elf, well, even better! :-)
Thank you for your thoughts on the story... it was a little different from my usual, so I wasn't quite sure how it was going to read for anyone else. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the images, as obviously that's what I concentrated on most, with the illness slowly coming upon him and the poor elf trying to stay warm and noble :-) Thanks for such yummy feedback, and putting me at ease!
