You are Darius, fierce warrior who slew a priest
and absorbed his goodness. You now devote your
life to peace and are a mentor to many, though
there are some who would destroy all you've
worked for to get a taste of your power.
Which 'Highlander' immortal are you?

Awww... this picture of Darius ALWAYS makes me sad. It's the very last footage of him ever in the series... right before his character's killed. And it had to be taken from a previous episode and used again out of context for right before his death scene because the actor was already dead. *sob* I love the character, though. Happy to have been matched with him. I really thought I was going to get Kronos... I answered most of the questions more towards Methos and Kronos so I expected some sort of yummy sexy horseman of the apocolypse. But, no, a very honored, respectible, lovable Darius instead. Interesting. I always liked Darius best for his reverse dark quickening. I thought its mere mention in 'Band of Brothers' attributed a WHOLE lot to the entire series and universe in such a subtle way. Just wish his character had been able to stick around for longer. But his death was necessary in real life... and on the show it gave way to the Watchers which were the singlemost interesting invention of the show and changed it forever. So, yeah. Darius. Good for me. heehee!
Still, I feel oddly inspired to pick up that slashy horsemen fic I keep toying with writing. Given that Highlander's my favorite fandom, I sure suck at writing fanfic in it... LOL

The Waking
Ahh, public love displays. You like long walks on
the beach, being serenaded by love songs in the
moonlight, and holding hands in Elven
paradises. True love does have a strong grip,
as Frodo might agree.
What Slashy Moment In Fellowship Are You?

Okay, well, it is one of my favorite moments... and, yeah, nothing better than Elven paradises... so okay. I can handle that *G*
I think I need to get off my ass and order pizza for tonight. Oh, wait, I order pizza online... damn... oh! But my money's in the car! Okay, so given that I have to put on clothes to go out to the car, I should just go and drive and pick up food... but, oddly, I'm not going to. LOL Laaaaaazy Sat. And I'm still not done with the damn Friday fic... but it's getting there. I keep getting distracted by Inuyasha episodes and a new Highlander music vid I'm making to 'The Immortal Cimoli' heehee

The older versions are much much better. Better cast, better singing, better all-around IMHO. Definitely one of those movies I adore from my childhood :-) I'm glad your brother did well in his play! *sings* "When you wake, ring for Drake. Drake will bring your tray..."

Date: 2004-02-28 10:03 pm (UTC)Yeah, I can imagine that they want to ease kids into a big long theater experience by starting with shorter things. That makes a lot of sense. But it sounds like, otherwise, most of the really, really good songs were there. I'm impressed that they kept "Maybe" That's a hard one to sing! Good on them! Yay! :-)
(Sorry, I didn't mean to imply 'Shortened' was a song. I needed a period between "Tomorrow" and Shortened. I just meant it to be its own statement. My bad. And now I'm confusing you more, LOL. Sorry!)

Date: 2004-02-28 08:30 pm (UTC)It's not so hard finishing a fic every friday... it's much harder starting and finishing a story within, say, 5 or 6 hours. I'm not a very fast writer, and I'm using these Friday Fics to explore fandoms and ways of writing (like, fast) that I don't usually get a chance to explore. It's just an exercise to get me thinking and trying different things. Plus it's nice to be forced to write something in just a day, and it's nice just to have something finished every week :-)

Date: 2004-02-28 09:59 pm (UTC)Yeah... I'd MUCH rather write than sleep, no matter how tired I am. Or at least get ideas down as soon as I get out of the shower or start to fall asleep because that's where my best ones show up. But, yeah, try writing a couple 1-hour fics. You'll feel a nice sense of accomplishment. I like time limits sometimes, though my best fics don't have any, obviously, sometimes the ideas that come out in an hour can surprise you *G*

Date: 2004-02-28 10:12 pm (UTC)Okay... so, yeah, I got out my yard stick. I sleep exactly 4ft and 3inches away from my computer, and it's always on. So I've got no trouble jumping over and writing down ideas before I sleep :-)
As for spelling sneezes, I've never had a problem with it. I just spell them as I hear them sound in my head when I write. About 1% of the time do I ever think about them. I just hear it and go with it. But when I write on paper, I NEVER spell them out. I use a long squiggley line like ~~~~~~~~~~ to represent the sneezes. It looks weird, but I'm paranoid someone will look over my shoulder and see. So I always use the squiggle when I write in public places or by hand. But spelling. Eh, it's just like any other piece of dialogue to me, I'm afraid.
Slashy Fellowship Quiz
Date: 2004-02-28 10:35 pm (UTC)IMHO, all the more subtly slashy moments took place inside Moria, and involved lots of mutual touching/saving/catching of men by a certain elf! But that's just me...and I fully admit my biases when it comes to that pointy-eared princeling!

Date: 2004-02-28 10:46 pm (UTC)Boyfriend was about to leave for a bathroom break when we were watching the EE over at a friends' house for the first time (his first time, not mine obviously) And I demanded he sit back down because that was the best part of the whole movie(and certainly an important ending to the gift scene in general that shouldn't be missed!). He obeyed me *G* Really, though, I get all dreamy at that point. I love those little smiles they exchange... and thinking about what must be going through Legolas' mind to see his friend so changed. Of course, he's changed, too. But their gentleness towards each other (compared to Legolas grabbing his beard and pulling him over the bridge just, what, 20? 30 minutes before?) is just overwhelming and sweet and dreamy. There's no other word for it. *sigh*

Re: Slashy Fellowship Quiz
Date: 2004-02-28 10:41 pm (UTC)I admit, I actually squee out loud during that scene, and in Fellowship there are very few I do that with...
Though I adore watching the way he holds his hand tightly against Aragorn's back when he catches the man... I do wince whenever he grabs Boromir and pulls him back, just because I know it hurt Orli with many bad bruises afterwards to do that on so many takes and that Sean was just having fun pretending to almost fall and get pulled back. Orli was doing all the work and paid for it. It's got lovely emotion in it... it just hurts a little to watch.
