Finished LotR fic & some ranting

tarotgalWell, it still needs one more editing, but first draft of the sequel of 'Back to Back' is finished. Yay! *waves arms happily* I'm quite enjoying this series :-) There's just something about a helpless sneezing elf... :-)
I hate hot weather. I am in complete protest of spring and summer coming around so early. Everyone is all "Oh, it's so nice and sunny and hot out. How great!" Fuck em all. I hate it. It went from 30 degrees last Thursday to 78 today. That's WAY too damn fast for me. I need at least another month or two of snow. I think I need to move to Alaska or somewhere this isn't so much of an issue for me. I really get annoyed by everyone dissing the winter. Then again, I'm probably the only pagan who hates her God for making it all hot and sunny again. Not that I don't mind the sun. I'm fond of taking cat naps on a sunny couch or bed with the warmth and all. But I just don't like being outside in the heat. Snow is so much more fun and romantic. I remember having this conversation with one of my students way back. He was saying he hates when it gets warm again because he didn't have any good-looking summer clothes. Oh, I totally agree with him on that. heehee! I find winter clothes to be SO much sexier. And it's much easier to snuggle up with someone in front of the fire in jeans and a sweatshirt than in swimming suits. LOL Just not right, I tell you! Winterclothes leave more to the imagination... and leave much more undressing to be done. *sniffles* I miss winter!
Oh. Shit. Plot bunny coming on. *grabs carrots tries to lead it in other direction*
Guess I'm just a bit depressed. I've been reading reviews of the PoA movie from people who are like me and prefer being picky and having movies faithful to the books. **SPOILER WARNING* It's not looking good for people like me. At least, not this cut. Though I AM slightly comforted in the fact that there's an extra Lupin & Sirius scene and that the Shrieking shack scene seems to be getting good reviews and that there's an extra Lupin & Harry scene. But things like the fact that there's only one Quidditch game in the whole movie (it's in the rain, though! YAY!) and the stag being a fountainy shield thing... and the firebolt is so unimportant and ends the movie... gah... I'm depressed. Though, oddly, I have NO problem with them changing the mud-fight by the shack with Harry & Draco to a snow fight. LOL! I suppose if I had a thing for mud I would be all Miss. Canon about that though. I just... gah... I love that book. and I just hope that people's comments at the screenings will help the movie change a bit from now until the release
Frequently when reading the Outlander series I desperately wanted a movie made so I could see all the wonderful Jamie and Claire moments not just in my head. But now I'm GLAD there hasn't been any movie along to mess it up. Those books are just too yummy and perfect to go and change at all. *sigh*

I can't ever remember Spring coming so early; we've always had snow 'til at least the end of April, but here it is the beginning of March and its already almost gone! All that's left is this icky black stuff...
I like Fall best...*g*
