Whatever happened to that sneezefic idea of mini points of inspiration every week? Not that I mind. I have MORE than enough plot bunnies to be getting on with right now, thank you very much! (For some reason, a werewolf wearing nipple clamps is just too lovely an image for me to abandon, LOL)
I'm *trying* to finish a couple more stories before I update. I have so many that are going so well... but I just can't see the next step in my head. Gah... it's the werewolf with nipple clamps. Hard to concentrate when he's around. LOL
I'm trying to think about my Friday fic. I told someone in e-mail that I'd write for a particular fandom (which I'm ashamed to admit I adore much much) but as I've never written in it before, it's taking me a while to get inspired. I think maybe I'll tape the next episode and watch it Friday so I get the dialogue right, if nothing else. I really, really enjoy these Friday Fics. I made a new page for them on my site, so I can keep track of what fandoms I've done already. It's just an interesting way to force myself to try new things in writing... and delve into different fandoms. I enjoy this a lot :-)
On another note... I think I might actually write TWO Titanic stories. We'll see. I started one earlier today. But it got so depressing I had to stop. It's majorly angsty. Which, um, makes sense given the circumstances. But it hurts. *sniffles* I don't like writing men hurting when there's no comfort involved. *sniffles* It's like tossing them into a pit and never pulling them out again. Poor Harry...
Ohhh, random thought. I watched a little of Brigadoon earlier today. *deep sigh* Horrible accents, under developed characters, cheesey dialogue... but it must be the romantic in me that loves shouting lines like "If you love someone enough, anything is possible!" Yep. I'm a hopeless romantic in a world without romance.
The music is just too wonderful. And the gathering of the clans (which makes no sense becuase in that time period so many different clans would never be living in one tiny town together like that) is just thrilling for me, none-the-less. So much flair and buildup. Hundreds of pipers and dummers, the music building and harmonizing, playing so loudly. Then it stops and the lad says (softly and firmly, as though we had no idea) "There's going to be a wedding." LMAO Cracks me up every single damn time I see that movie.
And Van Johnson. As cute and cuddley as Gene Kelly is, I ALWAYS had a crush on Van Johnson. Which is silly, since he was the annoying one. Oh, but he dances and sings so wonderfully. And he's cynical. I love cynics. It SO doesn't fit the movie. I love it! :-) *sigh* I'm resisting the urge to go put the VHS on in the other room. I wish I had a DVD. I need to tape Cowboy BeBop at 1:30am so I can't watch much of it even if I did start it now. But *sigh* lovely movie. My favorite grandparents bought it for me when I first started my "obsessed with Scotland" phase. I watched it minutes after unwrapping it as a present on Christmas. I've always loved it. Aww... Van Johnson... *sigh* I think his humorous roles were the best. Though there is something very sexy about a man in a uniform... even when you know he's got a metal plate in his head :-)

Date: 2004-03-09 07:43 am (UTC)As for the plots themselves, I let each fandom do that itself. I just spend a couple days leading up to it thinking about ideas but not writing a single of them down. But when Friday comes around, I just write and hope it comes together.
It's definitely a good way for me to try something new, and a way to try things in fandoms I wouldn't normally have time/passion for. And the time constraint keeps me working hard. :-)

Date: 2004-03-09 08:28 am (UTC)Usually to get back into the mood of writing a story which I set aside, all I have to do is read a few pages or a few paragraphs and then I remember the tone and the plot and then I just envision the next bit and write it :-)
But apart from the Friday fics and quick one-shots, I don't write it all out at one time. I sometimes jump to the end of the story and write that before I write the middle. Or sometimes I make myself write linearly just to motivate me to get to the end. But usually I jump around in the story as I get inspired to write other parts. But I hardly ever write a story full out, right away. Which is what the Friday fics are making me do. I don't role-play, though. I don't need anyone to bounce ideas off of. Images and dialogue just pops into my head and I write it. *shrug*
