tarotgalI squee every time TNT has a commercial for Ever After. They're showing the movie next Sunday. I heart Dougray Scott sooooooooo much. He's the guest star in my favorite Highlander episode- that's how I firt met him. And I ADORE him in Ever After. What a sweet story. Gods, I love fairy tales. Doesn't hurt that I adore Leonardo DaVinci either *G* But, yeah. I started an Ever After fic once. Never went more than a paragraph... but... gah... it's so nice seeing it on tv. I think I've worn out my VHS copy. LOL! *sigh* Dougray *drool* I literally have a spontaneous orgasm when he says "gunpowder" It's one of the, like, top 5 things in life that I love so much they just stop my heart. Just the way it rolls off his tongue... oh GODS is he sexy! And even sexier when he's crying and angsty. Just makes me want to hug the stuffing out of him *G* I'm so happy they keep showing commercials *G* How sad am I? LOL
WUMB has taken over my life these last 2 days. I'm listening to it, like, 10 hours a day now. I love it so much. Am soooooooo happy it exists. It's the only 24-hour folk radio station in the world. And they play loads of Celtic songs on the weekend and wolrd songs on Sunday. *sigh* Happy happy! I started listening as they kicked off their membership drive. Even that makes me happy. I grew up on PBS. I was allowed to watch only PBS, ABC News with Peter Jennings, Sat morning cartoons, Star Trek:TNG, and once in a while Jeopardy. So hearing pledge drives is like a childhood nursery rhyme for me. Those familiar repeated lines of "We need your help more than ever now" and "we'll send you a thank you gift" and "If you're thinking about becoming a new member, there's no better time than now" There's just something about it to me that's comforting... to know people actually still donate their money to public television and radio. There's just something that reminds me of my childhood when I listen now. Makes me wish I actually had money, myself. I can't even make rent next month. I've got a whole $54 in the bank to last me 2 months. So when they say "give as much as you can" I repeatedly tell them I can't give any but as soon as I have a job I will become a member. But, yeah... I love the spring pledge drive. Just makes me want to curl up and relive my childhood :-)
We had 3 PBS channels where I grew up. One was the most local (26) and one was from Maryland (32) and one was the "lesser" station (22). My parents were both members of 26. But we watched the others a lot as well, based on what was on. 22 actually had a show none of the others did, a show called Fairy Tale Theater. We used to watch it during dinner as a family. We all loved it. So during one pledge drive my father called in and pledged $20 to thank them for that show. The guy on the phone tried to get him to give more and said "Well, how much do you pay for cable every month?" to which my father of course replied "We don't have cable. Never have. Can't afford it" and the guy thanked him for his pledge and let him go after that. heehee *sigh* I wish my local PBS station didn't suck so much. Then again, that would mean not watching TNT and missing little bits of Dougray during the commercial breaks! Ah! Never! heehee!

Oohhh happy PotC commentary! *G* I'm attempting to write a much longer story based on the short winter challenge drabble I wrote based on that moment from the commentary *G* But, yes, can you imagine if that had been part of the plot/characterization? And, seriously, how does something like that pop into Johnny Depp's mind? LOL Very happy that it did!
Speaking of PotC... I wrote a short nonsneezefic while you were gone weeks and weeks ago. It was up on my LJ but I wasn't sure if you ever caught it. Let me know if you want it and can't track it down. It's H/C (Jack gets injured, Will comforts)
