I'm going to wake up at 4:30 tomorrow morning and drive 5 hours to the state capital. I'm making my boyfriend tag along. Actually, I told him he's free not to go, but I would feel better if he came along. So he is. Nice boy, willing to get up so early and sit through a couple hours of a teacher's conference just for me :-) I'm not planning to spend much time there. It's a 3 day event (started today, ends Sunday) but I'm only going for about 5 hours, then driving 5 hours home. In all honesty, I should stay longer and get more interviews like I did yesterday. But I now know what to expect and I think I just need help with the teaching license info and stuff. So if I can get that sorted out in the morning by talking to people who know about that... then I'll be all set to get certified and then send out my resume to get a real job... or sign up for summer classes as needed, etc.
Bought a new suit top today. It's a little too modern/flashy but I needed something VERY badly and it was on sale at JC Penny's. The one I wore to the interviews yesterday is way too small for me now that I've gained weight. It's very depressing. LOL. But this one works all right.
Going to go get gas in the car now. I got the oil changed at Walmart earlier today. So 10 hours driving for 5 hours of quality info... it's going to be a LONG day tomorrow. I'm just hoping not to get lost. I might try to stop by the science museum while there... I slept in that museum overnight once. I've fond memories of that place. But we might just leave early so we can get home to the kitty cats :-)
I think I'm going to put together some nice mixed CD's that will keep me awake while driving. I may really, really need them! LOL I started a Friday Fic tonight but I am going to try to go to bed before 1am so I might not finish it today. We shall see. Just FYI. I know I've been bad with them... I intend to start being better about them as soon as life lets me :-)
Ug. Was a crappy weather day today. In the mid-70's. All fucking hot and sunny. And having to listen to everyone go on and on about how "nice" it was. EW EW EW. If I hear another person call that weather nice I'll scream :-) I detest warm weather with a passion.

Date: 2004-03-26 05:30 pm (UTC)You'd rock as a teacher...afterall, you've always managed to explain/encourage/help me through anything and everything; you'd be excellent with others!
Um, still very tired and not very coherent; good luck!

Date: 2004-03-26 06:40 pm (UTC)Will trade with you on the weather *lol*. Although it was actually getting warmer today (I think in the 50s) but rainy and muddy.
Although probably part of my problem stems from working with young children. When they don't get out much they are wild animals. :P Nice weather is great for letting them run outside like maniacs.
Best of luck with the trip and interview.

Tee hee. Sorry couldn't help meself. You crack me up sometimes!
After a monthlong Indian summer, we've slipped back into the rainy fogginess that we are so accustomed to here on the West Coast.
