Gacked from Meg
I always get INFJ, as long as I haven't taken these things after some big emotional event, in which case I sometimes get ISFJ or ISFP or INTJ. But I'm very INFJ and usually get that, so twas nice to see that even a silly, cute little HP one gave me the same result! Whoohoo! Though I sort of wish I'd scored a INFP just so I could be like Remus :-) But I don't like when things are undefined and unorganized. I'm anal when it comes to details and I like the unknown to be spelled out completely before I approach it. So, yeah, I'm afraid I'm more of a J than I P. Sad. I love Remus... heehee

THough I don't know about this... I certainly have very set opinions about some things... but I'm the most indecisive person I know. So *shrug* I don't know about the description. And I personally see Dumbledore as an extrovert- he's a leader, he's a doer. Sure, he's secretive... but I'm not sure that's enough to make him an introvert. I don't know... must think on this more. He's certainly empathetic and ethical, though. I'll agree with those.

Date: 2004-03-28 02:44 pm (UTC)As for the HP characters... I think I like them most because there's a little something in every one that you can relate to. Even the characters in the "evil" house have some understandable characteristics. I feel I have a lot in commom with many of the characters, but I definitely think I'm easily more like Remus than anyone else. :-)

Date: 2004-03-28 03:52 pm (UTC)The first time I took the MBTI test back in college about 5 years ago, I got ISTP, but the percentage between P and J, and between S and N was very close on my test, so that a single answer or two could have made it go the other way. I'm definitely an I and a T though.

Date: 2004-03-28 09:32 pm (UTC)But, yes, problem with this was that it's so short that changing just one or two answers changes things a lot. Plus some of the questions had words like "always" and I don't always do something. So I wasn't sure how strictly to work with that :-) I mean, if I did it 99% of the time that means it's probably a trait... but it's not always. Yeah. This is why I sucked at the SAT's. LOL

Date: 2004-03-28 08:57 pm (UTC)Anyway, don't know if you have heard this before or if you agree with it or not, but that was how that particular distinction was explained to me. I can see that Dumbledore is indeed a leader and that he does very well in the limelight...however, I also can see how Dumbledore would need time to reflect and to just be alone with his own thoughts in order to really be, feel and act his best and most powerful self. I don't think an extrovery Dumbledore would be nearly as powerful as in individual if he was driven be those around him instead of within himself.
What do you think?

Date: 2004-03-28 09:41 pm (UTC)It makes a lot more sense with Dumbledore as well. Especially since we knew he doesn't tell people a lot of things... and has a pensive... and he doesn't go out needing to have attention and input from others, or seeking attention (refusing the MoM position) but still being strong and a good leader. And I completely agree- I don't think he'd be as powerful at all if he were otherwise. Being able to understand yourself and pull things from yourself is the first step towards interacting with others and understanding others (as far as introverts go) and that's important to Dumbledore's strength. Yes, I completely agree with your observation/analysis. That clears things up for me SO much! Thank you!!
