Startling Realization
Mar. 19th, 2003 01:18 amI had a very startling realization as I wrote tonight. That the LotR story with Aragorn and Legolas that I had envisioned a week ago was very much not what I was writing. I don't know what this current story is, but it is filled with much grief and guilt which overpower the sneezes and drown out the need for the sort of sex I had envisioned for the pair. Instead, Legolas seems to be gravitating to Gimli for comfort... and I do not much feel like holding him back. So far, it's mainly an AU summary, with emotion and sneezes thrown in.... but I do not know exactly where it will take me on Legolas' catharsis of sorts.
So I began another story just now (about half a minute ago) which resembles more of what I originally had in mind. And when I'm done playing there, I will feel much better about returning to this darker piece which I'm sure will be good when finished... but it has a spirit all its own and does not need me.

Ooh! Elf angst!
I'm pleased Gimli will have a role...the dwarf really is quite good at comforting his friends. He's much wiser than he looks. It's there to see in the movie as he holds back Legolas from going after Aragorn at the end of their spat in the armory of Helm's Deep.
I'm psyched that you've started another fic too! Good luck with that one as well. Hopefully Aragorn and Legolas will cooperate for you this time!

Re: Ooh! Elf angst!
Date: 2003-03-19 09:30 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm not entirely sure where it's going, but there's been quite a lot of angst and there proves to be much more before I'm done. The characters really are amazing- like you say, they're much deeper than can easily be portrayed in the movies. I'm having a lot of fun with it... even if this current story is dark and uncooperative... it's more than worth it for the result. Thanks MUCH for the encouragement though!!!!!
Though I must admit, it's a little sad for me to be learning about the world in so much detail before I've finished the books or movies... I've ruined quite a few surprises for myself :-) But I don't mind it too much if it makes my stories now better. Besides, I can just recall my surprise when I watch the third movie and read the book, right?
There is a higher power.

Re: There is a higher power.
Date: 2003-03-19 09:53 am (UTC)And you're more than welcome to do so! Hi!
**I'm not game to type it even, but...I share your interest (too scared to type the 'f' word!) for...um...the content of your site. And I thought I was a freak before I found your site, and the rest of the sites out there! Now, I know I am a freak but at least I am not alone, and at least I have lots of wonderful...stories...**
I couldn't use the 'f-word' for 3 months when I first found the sites, even after I submitted stories to the sites! I refused to believe it and just called it an interest... took me a while to get over that :-) And sometimes I still do feel like it's just an interest... while other times it is more sexual in nature for me. *hugs* I'm so glad you feel better about yourself though! Whoohoo! Go freaks!! :-)
**And then I stumbled upon your diary a few days ago, and read that you had written a LotR story...oh. That's what broke my silence, finally, and persuaded me to say - hi, tarotgal!**
Aaaaaawwwwwwww you're going to make me cry! Hi!!! I'm glad you finally found it on TG's Realm... It was also posted on sneezefic and lotrhpsneeze but the one on my site's the better version. And I'm most glad you enjoyed it! It *is* a good obsession, isn't it? (LotR I mean) I'm so glad you delurked to say so! This totally made my day! I'm so glad you were able to find my site(s) and stories- especially the LotR one and thank you so much for sharing with me!
And thank you for the story link- I'm sure I had not read it before. I like the way the hobbits (and eventually everyone) teased him for it. Though the sneezes by the end weren't exactly my favorite, it was still QUITE an amusing story- though with Legolas, how could I not like it? :-) Thanks!!
