Just finished watching Big Fish again.
Am sobbing so hard. Damn. I want to be immortal! I'm happy just being a small fish... but I want to be immortal like that so badly... I really do. Even just a little bit :-) *sobs* I love this movie. I want this movie to be my life. *sigh* I really want to watch the commentary, but I know I'll just start crying at the end again, and there are large tear spots all over my shirt and my cuff's soaked already. So I won't. I'll wait until later. But... damn... I want to be immortal...

I am so jealous! I wanted to see Big Fish so bad when it came out but no one would see it with me...Oh well, I guess that's just another movie to add to the "rent" list.

My DVD player is still in the shop though until Thurs. And I still have DVDs that I've bought to watch as well. I bought Master and Commander last week and today I bought Ghosts of the Abyss and U-571 (which is one of my favorites that I haven't seen in forever). Arg, I have lots of catching up to do!

As a writer, I honestly cannot think of a movie that's more inspiring to me. It's just... it's just fantastic. *sigh*

Plus Ewan's just adorable *snuggles* heehee!

I just came home from Best Buy and they had it playing on the TVs so I just stood there for twenty minutes and watched. Then I felt kind of bad because I didn't buy anything. Then I reminded myself that last week I spend over fifty bucks there so I figure they owe me...LOL

Big Fish is a movie that came out last winter with Ewan in it. I guess you just missed the hundreds of commercials and it's academy award nominations and all :-) It's from Tim Burton so it's very beautiful and fantastical as he always does things. It's about a father who always tells these big tales about his life and as he's now dying, his son wants to know what was actually true or not about his father's life. But the big point of the movie is that it doesn't matter what's true. All that matters is the story. That's what lives on. It's VERY inspiring as a writer :-)
The fish metaphor just comes from that expression about not wanting to be a big fish in a small pond.
