Fic writing survey gacked from a friend in a different account :-)

When did you write your first "Fanfiction" piece? What was it for?:
Well... Sesame Street, technically. But I never physically wrote any of those out. The first one I actually wrote out was a Pound Puppies story in second grade (I want to say it was Cooler who had a cold... but I think Holly did as well in the story- it was only two pages long, heehee).
First online fanfic piece was a Highlander story I never finished.

Did you actually post it anywhere?:
I posted the HL piece on the Rysher forum... or at least the link to it on my page. The Pound Puppies piece is in my writing portfolio from that year still.

What series have you written fanfics for? (both posted stories, and non-posted stories):
Oh dear GODS that's a long answer... *deep breath* Okay...
More than 1 story written in this fandom: Highlander, Star Wars, Forever Knight, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Weiss Kreuz, Velvet Goldmine, Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, Queer as Folk, X-Men, The 10th Kingdom, X-Files
Only 1 story (or unfinished stories) in this fandom: Star Trek, Young Indiana Jones, Chronicles of Narnia, Gravitation, Wolf's Rain, Witch Hunter Robin, Charmed, Phantom of the Opera, Early Edition, The O.C., Stargate, Batman, Dinatopia, Anastasia, Time Trax, Pitch Black, Rocky Horror, Fortress, RENT, The Handler, ER, Dinosaurs

Yeah... I think that's it...

Any Original Characters (ones that got named) that you had inhabit the series universes? If so- who/where? (yes, this is where we embarrass you by revealing your dark secrets!):
Um... I guess poor Tala in Star Wars... and a couple here or there in various fics where I needed lines said by a random classmate or council member or something. Oh, ah, in the Highlander universe I invented a female immortal who was a student of Methos' and a student of hers... but I can't even remember their names and I never finished the fic. So... yeah... oh, there's one in the Harry Potter universe... um... what was his name... I dunno, but he was your typical HarrySue and I never finished that fic either.

If you had the chance to have the original creator turn any of your fanfic into an actual real piece, which story would you choose?
Oh my goodness... um... yeah, anything with the pups or Obi/Qui having sex. My Obi-torture trilogy would be fun to see... But nothing's actually good enough for it. I could name a lot of good fics from other authors I'd much rather see turned into a real piece! :-)

Do you have any weird music quirks that help you write?
I don't like silence. I usually have a movie or tv show playing on the left-hand side of the computer screen. And I ALWAYS have the tv on in the other room regardless of if I've got something on in here or not. But my Enya list and 'Lesbian Artists/Folk Music' list are the two I most listen to when writing because they're soothing and there's enough men in my head that it's a nice happy balance, I guess.
I cannot think unless there's some sort of noise to ignore or get my mind working.

What are common "themes" you hide in your stories?
Themes? Um... does angst count? Uh... how about characters getting sick and others comforting them? I mean, I know H/C is a category but if it's a theme, then yeah, that. Otherwise... yeah... lots of character suffering. Lots of pointless yummy sex. That's about all I write. LOL! But those are all pretty obvious, yes... what do I HIDE? I guess themes like true love/support overcoming hardship... importance of being kind to the environment/animals/others... um... it really depends on the story. I usually hide a lot of themes but I don't have any common ones I repeat. It depends on the story.

What are your favorite characters to write POVs from?
Qui-Gon... and Remus Lupin... that's about it. I do try a lot of others... young!Obi I can pull off pretty well if he's talking about his Master the whole time. Older!Obi I can handle, but I wouldn't say he's my favorite.

What story of yours do you wish more people would read and love?
Oh gods... LOL Um... I'm blushing here as I try to think of one. I'm sure there are a bunch. I'm tempted to say 'Delicate Games' because I posted it on last update and haven't had a single person mention they read it (though I know Lady Korana made it to the header at least). Yeah... I was REALLY happy with my Ani & Obi interaction there... and the portrayals and characteristics of each while sick. ANd never got a hint of feedback on it, which is okay, but I'd like to know if it sucked and that's why no one's telling me. I'd rather they all read it and love it though. LOL

But as a real answer I guess either 'Love and Lightheartedness' because that one is very special to me as far as the fetish elements I included... or this Obi fic I'm working on now that won't stop for the same reason. Oh, or 'Scarves and Sentimentality' because I think it's a fun but cute read and it's damn long. LOL If I could tell anyone to read a story of mind, regardless of reaction, it'd be that one I think.

If you could pick a specific scene of your story to be made into a comic-book/doujinshi format, what scene from what fanfic would you pick?
Oh, um, hmmmm... anything with sex in it and a LOT of sneezing I'd LOVE to see illustrated *G*
Maybe, ah, the sex scene in 'Hot and Bothered'(because I'm ALL for actually seeing a sneezy Obi bent over a sink, taking it in the rear) or the one in 'Managing the Memories' or in 'Front to Front'.
OHhhhhh! No, definitely one of my Gimli/Legolas stories. 'In-Between' or 'Time to Come in From the Cold'- actually seeing the sniffly elf and dwarf snuggling would make me VERY happy :-)

And last but not least- Why do you like writing fanfiction?
Because it gets the damn images and stories out of my head. They sit there gnawing at me until I write them. It's like a very fun form of torture. heehee I love exploring different aspects of characters I already love... I love the slash and porn aspects... and I OBVIOUSLY have a thing for writing lovely characters into hurt/comfort situations as I've been doing it since I was 3 or 4. But, yeah, I like making the characters do things I, as a fangirl, squee over. And I like learning from them through writing.
But, mostly, I just want to get the darn things out of my head. They fill it up whether I want them to or not, you see. It's like a channel them. So if I don't write, I go INSANE from too many visions and character voices wanting their stories told

Wow. So... that was fun! :-)
