So happy for him!!! Awwwww and on his daughter's birthday, too! He's such a teddy bear... oh, I love that guy. SO sweet... so tough... so nice.
It was a really nice show, I think. I could have done without Johnny Fairplay, though. I freakin hate that guy. ANd it's not where you love to hate him, I just hate him.
But I'm SO glad for Rupert! I voted for him. I would have died if it had been Rob or Big Tom. I know Tom's from my state but I really don't like the guy and have NO idea what he's saying half the time. LOL And Rob... well, he's got Amber's money, LOL. And Colby's from Texas. So YAY RUPERT!!!!!!!! :-)
It was a very nice show... I'm glad I voted. Jeff's so interesting... and nice... and I'm glad everything got worked out okay. I must admit I was slightly intrigued by emasculated Jeff as he did the bit about the sexiest guy on the show. I voted for Ethan... ohhhhhhh yeah. *drool*
Anyway... very nice show... nice way to end this, I think. And Jerri's right, it IS their night. I think we forget that sometimes. So this was a very nice way to wrap it up. Awwww
And GO RUPERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *jumps for joy*

Just thought I'd share that. XD Because brother is such a dork. And YAY RUPERT! I was so happy when he won. Not surprised, but super happy. Because he deserved it. OH! And whenever they showed Johnny Fairplay, I would start squeezing whatever it was I was holding. I crushed a lemonade can to death. Eugh. I hate him SO much, I just can't stand it. He makes me angry. Grrr.... I'm glad Rupert yelled at him during Pearl Islands. That was the best.

I was so worried Rob would win. I mean, yeah he got far in the last season... but Rupert was screwed over the first time and made a lot of sacrifices to go back on the show again... and got so far... I was SO happy :-)

Every time Rob won an immunity challenge the entire season, I got upset lol. I mean, I don't DISLIKE him ((too badly)), but he's just not my Rupert. My piratey, wonderful, screaming Rupert. SO glad he won. I love his attitude.
I know. *hisses* He just makes me want to... kick the tv. lol Damn that man.

He's funny, he's strong, he values his family, he's helpful, he's sweet... I could go on and on and on. My brother loves him and was very disappointed when he wasn't up for 'sexiest male' LOL *pets brother* He has such fun taste in men.

But with Justin, he very carefully avoids telling him how he feels. Which is just the sure sign that he loves him. I LOVE guys like Brian, even though if I were dating one, it would drive me absolutely bonkers. LOL

He wouldn't be Brian if it seemed like he didn't give a fuck... and then suddenly organize a wedding at the drop of a pin... and pretend he doesn't care cuz he won't be there when he's planning all along to give the tickets away, too... he's just... gah... I love. But I wouldn't be able to handle it if I was dating someone like that. I'm not good with games... or subtle things like that. I need obvious and blunt and honest the whole time.

Hrm... I shall have to think of a better solution... I know there are storage places online, but the only one I'm familiar with I've already had a free trial with and it's expired... I'll have to look into the matter, though. I'm going nuts trying to avoid spoilers. And I'm sure I won't be able to wait a year until they're out on DVD...

In the UK version, the Brian character doesn't do that. He just gets the Justin character to get some love letters written between the girls and turn those into the authorities. And that kicks the French guy out because they knew the marriage was a fake.
So Brian's was a MUCH better solution, I thought. I love how much he cares for Gus... and them. And everyone :-)

Wow... the UK version sounds interesting. I know it used to show on Pridevision, but guess who lost that a month ago? ._. I was so sad I almost started to cry LOL. I don't watch tv, outside of QaF and Survivor when they're on, and sometimes I'll watch an anime or something, if I'm bored. So to lose the ONLY channel I would actually watch on a daily basis was... horrid. But yeah, it sounds like the american version is a bit better, at least for my tastes. :D I love how Brian sort of dangled it over their heads, saying it would only work if they got back together. Goodbye, french dude who tried to steal Gus. *kicks him down the street*

Financially, he's okay now. I won't tell you how, but he's okay. He WAS on the verge of selling the loft, but thank god it didn't come to that. Because... he wouldn't be brian without the giant loft. Heh. But yeah, he isn't in jail. That would have been too horrible! But LOL in the first season, he tried to pay for lunch, and the others wouldn't let him. So he got mad and stole the check. It was cute. And I'll stop now. *covers mouth*

It is interesting. It's SO alike it's frightening. I mean, same movements and everything (did you ever see my music vid that compared the two?) But at the same time, it's very different. In the UK version, the Ted character actually does die in episode 3. And in the UK version the Brian/Justin character pairing sort of dies off and the Brian/Mikey pairing is much stronger and wins out. But Stuart and Vince end up being so unlike Brian and Michael by the end that I think it really, really works... I really start to love it when it goes off on its own, away from the US version (or the US version away from the UK one) I wouldn't have thought, starting from near identicalness, that the characters would be that different for me but they really, truly were. I love both... just in much different ways. The US version is MUCH more fulfilling because there are only, what, 9 or 10 episodes of the UK one? But, yeah, I like them both a lot. They just live in their own rights and evolve differently.
But I have the UK versions on my computer... you can download them from me if you want them. Just let me know... in the next week or so before I move and lose my internet connection.
Almost as bad as the QAF desire is the fact that without Kazaa I've no way of getting songs. There aren't very good torrents for mp3s(only shows and movies) so I haven't heard recent music in months, LOL
Ohhhh I read your LJ post when you lost that channel. *pets* I'm sorry!!! I can totally imagine. It's hard finding a channel to click with (I'm currently obsessed with TNT because I adore Charmed and Judging Amy) but it's horrible to know it is still out there, you just can't watch it...

Date: 2004-05-13 07:15 pm (UTC)I voted for Colby for sexiest...Ethan's nice too, but I really can't stand his hair for some reason...too similar in style to Johnny Fairplay's (and let me add my name to the list of those clamoring for Johnny's messy, prolonged humiliation and death!). Anyway, I was limited in options to only those people from Pearl Islands and All-Stars, since I never saw any of the previous Survivors. I'm really disappointed I missed the first few eps of Pearl Islands too...I would have loved to see the full series of events surrounding Rupert's playing pirate and stealing Morgan's stuff. I find it very ironic now, that my first memories of Rupert are actually of me cheering against him. I had a thing for the underdog, and I was hoping Morgan would win the strength/endurance challenge. Of course, by the time Austen (sp?) turned into a quitter, Lil got annoying, and Johnny started really playing his games, I was all for Rupert, especially when he chewed out that slimy bastard!
I had a blast watching the videos on cbs.com of the Survivors pleading their cases for why they should get the million...and how several of them pleaded not for themselves, but for Rupert (Yay Jenna, good girl...making up for voting Rupert out, which I don't harbor any hard feelings for; it was by far the most logical move for her to make, the only way to guarantee she makes it, but I do feel a little less annoyed by her now (though the girl still needs to shut her mouth from time to time!)). Some people though...are they deluded? Like I'm really gonna give the million to Boston Rob, after he got a car and is marrying the winner, with her car and her million! Not a chance buddy!
Anyway, I'm pleased with the results, though I'm surprised Big Tom made it to the final four. Congrats for Rupert and his adorable happy family!!!

Well, I fell in love with Rupert from the start... and was pulling for his tribe the whole way. Which is strange because I really do usually go for the underdogs as well. But he was just so lovable and piratey... I couldn't help it! LOL
Osten... oh ghods I couldn't stand him. All the whining and worrying about his body and freaking out about the water and animals- what the heck did he think Survivor was going to be like? LOL
I didn't see all the videos, though I mean to now... I do agree it was nice that some were fair and mentioned Rupert as well *G* I think they all knew he would win a popularity vote. And he totally deserves to.
I really like Rob/Amber... but I do hope she gets a prenup... or they figure something out. Because all this living in the public eye is enough to drive normal people insane. I don't want to see their happiness come to blows

I don't even remember the names of anyone else who was on Drake, except for Rupert...and since Morgan was going down and that's where all the action was, that's mostly all I remember the camera showing, so I only got to know that half of the show.

Awww... Drake was fun... but I do miss skinny Ryan. He was so cute *cuddles* I couldn't tell you many names and tribes either, though. I've got a horrible memory for things I haven't seen a dozen times over, I'm afraid. But I do remember being very happy every time Drake won yet again. LOL
