HP fic posted
May. 18th, 2004 06:21 amAhhhh sometimes nothing cheers a person up more than spending an hour writing a short, wholesome sneezefic :-) Especially one I'd been meaning to write for a while now. Yay! :-) It's posted on sneezefic.
Thanks, everyone, for the sweet sentiments. Everyone's got their good and bad points, including my boyfriend... if I'm still supposed to call him that, LOL. I wouldn't have stayed with him this long if I didn't enjoy his company and didn't like him in many many ways (after all, my department is 7% women and 93% men). But I realized early on that it wasn't a relationship meant to be forever (at least once a month he'd say 'See, this is why we should never get married') but the ending of it... or the ambiguous attempt at such... still hurts a bit. I know it's for the best and starting anew all at one time will be very refreshing and exciting indeed. Thank you all for your kind words on the matter *HUGS* They're much appreciated.
To quote the sign hanging in my living room "The more I know about men, the better I like my cat" And considering my cat drinks out of the toilet and eats out of the trash can, that's saying a lot. LOL!

I'm not going to go on about how sorry I am, and how much of a jerk your boyfriend thing is, because I'm not sure how much it'll help. But if you'd LIKE to hear it from one more person, I'd be more than happy to say it.

Date: 2004-05-18 10:43 pm (UTC)Glad you liked! Random and fun are good :-) Heehee, I like how they're not the best at schoolwork and such, but with things they care about they can be all technical and anal and careful and talented...
LOL No worries. He is a jerk. But I'm not perfect either :-) But thanks :-)
Semi-off topic post
Date: 2004-05-18 10:21 pm (UTC)Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your fic 'Sneezing Sweets'! It's quite a clever concept, and I'm amazed no one else has come up with it before...in retrospect, it seems such a logical way to inject some sneezing into the HP universe. Lovely false starts from George, and I was incredibly amused by all the detailed note-taking by Fred. Wouldn't we all like to read his complete notes? Or better yet, sit in all their testing sessions? ;)
Anyway, I can only imagine the horizons that this wonderful new candy invention opens to those sneeze fetishists living in the HP world...if it were me, I'd leave these babies all over Hogwarts: drop a few in random desks, sprinkle a few in with dessert trays, you name it! Of course, I'd have to leave some antidote ones laying around too, or else I'd feel guilty at causing too much misery (except maybe the Slytherin table *G*). Maybe if they wore off on their own after a few minutes, I'd feel less guilty, but I'm too nice a person to intentionally inflict lasting suffering on nice students. I'm such a goody-two-shoes....but not so much that I wouldn't hesitate to drop a few of these around Minas Tirith in a heartbeat were it possible! ;-)

Date: 2004-05-18 10:40 pm (UTC)Yeah, boyfriend sucks. And he told me while driving, not over the phone. But, yeah, same principle. But he's still acting like we're still together... which I suppose we still are. It's just lots of weirdness right now, LOL
I was talking with someone... gwt, I think... right after we both read HP5 and talking about how they should have had sneezing candies as well. So this fic has been long overdue :-) And I totally agree, I'd have been VERY happy if they'd actually done that in the books. It's a lovely thing to imagine, testing them out... leaving them here and there to be eaten... *G*
And I also agree that I wouldn't be able to do it to others underhandedly with a clean conscience, either. Not even to the Slytherins.
Still, it would be a wonderful thing to see *G*
Glad you liked the fic. The original version was twincest and had them realizing it was much more fun to, ah, play with this particular invention in private rather than market it. But I think I like this version a little better. LOL I love George, though. Couldn't resist torturing him a little *G* Glad you liked! And oohhh I would have enjoyed sitting there for the whole 3 or 4 hour development session... and then when they tested it on others... yum yum...
Thanks for reading & for the fb!
