Why is it that Boyfriend spends SO much time complaining to me, and then NEVER takes one word of the advice I offer him? I'll spend time considering and comforting and offering solutions, and then he frigging NEVER follows a bit of it. He complains that his boss hasn't e-mailed him, and then when I suggest he e-mail his boss in case the guy forgot, he tells me he doesn't want to and it's not a big deal. WTF? Why the hell complain and ask for advice then? And after I do think of some good solution, he just says something like he'll ask our other friends to see what they say. Well then, fine! LOL Don't bother me with it then! See if I care!! It's not like my key character trait is comforting or something!!! Idiot. Why even bother asking me if he's not actually going to listen to what I say?

Men. They suck. A lot. And make NO sense at all.

*sigh* Just another reason I'm glad we're breaking up in two weeks. LOL This is such a strange situation. But no sex from now on... and I'm paying my own way when we go out somewhere to dinner or something. I just... I have no money. So I won't be going out much. I need to finish all the food in my fridge/freezer before the move anyway.

Hmm..
I think you should tell him exactly what the first half of your rant says. Why ask, if you wont listen? The questions are NOT rhetorical...etc. etc. If he says he wants to vent, tell him to get a journal. end of that! lol. You're far too good for him hun, and if he wont even try and salvage it, despite distance, he's def. not worth it. If it's love, it can endure distance. I mean, it's hard. My ex and I were thousands of miles apart (him being fr. england, and my being from the west coast) but we handled it. Okay, babbling again. Must stop. lol. I hope everything works out for you!

Oh, I did tell him. He didn't have an answer, though. He tends not to say anything at all in situations like that. Or says it's not a big deal. Or just sighs. Which is annoying in and of itself. But, yeah, I certainly did ask him why he never follows or considers any of my advice. His lack of answer just makes it all the more annoying.
I mean, I know it's good therapy just to bitch about things. And I don't mind being a shoulder at all. It's just when he says he wants advice and then doesn't take mine.

But, yeah, I've had long distance relationships before- and it does indeed take a lot of work to keep it going. But sometimes it is VERY worth it.
I just find it a bit insulting that after over 3 and a half years together he's not willing to even entertain the possibility of trying. But as insulting as that is, I know it's definitely for the best. I can't take this much longer. LOL

I know what you mean, he should at least TRY! You'll be fine hun, it really sounds like, and I'm not just saying this because of an obvios bias or anything, but he's holding you back. More good will come without him. It just doesn't seem that way now. *wink*
