LOL! Random thought...
Why is it every time I read Hermione's LJ now I either flash back to crying my eyes out watching Ghost as a kid (I still can't watch it without sobbing, so I don't watch it ever... even pottery makes me teary-eyed) or I think of Michael and Brian jerking each other off in the bedroom? Or just Michael by himself with the picture of hot young Patrick? *G*
Quite a difference, don't you think? I either get really depressed or hot. LOL I prefer the latter.

I make a lot of odd connections in my head, though. So I suppose it's not too odd to go from Ghost to that scene :-) In the UK version it's much less adorable as I don't know the actor they're talking about. Apparently it's some guy on a motorcycle in red and cream leather... and he's supposed to be sexy enough for them to be wanking to. The pic didn't do much for me, though. LOL Must be a cultural difference...
When Hermione first posted that she saw that movie for the first time recently, that was my first reaction: "That movie's really old!"
But I knew she wouldn't understand the reference. LOL
Such innocent times in the show *sigh* I love Justin coming into his own and figuring himself out back then. Such courage he had to keep bugging and playing with Brian until they were back in bed again. LOL

Must be it's just because he was BIG in the UK. Like.. Patrick Swayze was big here. And we were all TOLD that he's sexy and wanted and blah blah blah. Sometimes I think that's the only reason half of the world likes who or what it does. But who knows? :D
Heh. Lots of times I want to quote the show, but the people I'm talking to/typing to won't understand, so it won't be as funny or whatever it's supposed to be. LOL Oh well. There's always you.
Aww, yeah. Justin was such a wonderful character back then. I loved him. Then I disliked him for awhile -- the whole Ethan thing really ticked me off for a bunch of different reasons -- and then I liked him again, for awhile. But yeah, early Justin was cute. A bit annoying at times, but cute.

Date: 2004-05-21 08:04 am (UTC)My father used to do pottery in his spare time, even had his pots in an art show once. I guess it's just in my blood.
Michael and Brian are two characters from Queer as Folk. There's a scene in episode 2 where they're remembering a time in their youth when they were just discovering their sexuality. They were rather turned on by a photo of Patrick Swayze as they were going through a magazine together. And boys being boys and hands being hands... they didn't finish, though. Mikey's Mom walked in on them.
Old/young are relative. It seems old to me since I was just a kid when I saw it for the first time. But I suppose to people who were older then it wouldn't seem so old. I just remember it used to be one of my favorite movies to shout out when we were playing tv/movie-freeze-tag :-) Then again, I also shouted out PBS shows and things like "The Nightly News with Dan Rather!" I had a strange childhood... LOL
