tarotgal: (SG1- Just one of those days)

Okay... I've got a Stargate question, this time. Can't seem to find an answer that's helpful on the various sites out there in internet land

The Alpha Site... that was established in season 2 when they were evacuating Earth, right? And then I can't remember any other use of it until the Tok'ra and Jaffa are there with the SG in season 6.
I have a feeling they mentioned it a lot more between these two episodes/seasons. What am I missing? What have they been using it for during this time gap? When did the Jaffa move in (sometime after 'The Warrior' I expect?)

Thanks much... I usually need to watch things many times over to remember them. And some SG1 episodes I've only seen once or twice at most. So I don't feel quite as confident with the details as I'd like. Thanks!!!

I can't help you with your questions but I wanted to tell you that I watched Stargate yesterday. It was the only thing on TV that a recognized and looked interesting. Aren't I horrible? The characters were in Egypt and I half thought they were going to fight mummies before the show was over. They didn't.I haven't seen the movie in a couple years. That's okay though, despite me not knowing a thing about anything that was going on...I still liked it. Of course it helped that that Anderson guy and that Daniel character (LOL-Conan O'Brien) aren't bad looking! Yes, but anyway, I'm no longer a Stargate TV show virgin.

Uh, well there were pyramids! My grandmother called 10 minutes in and I talked to her for a couple more so I might have missed the establishing shot/talk. But they were some place ancient and there were two guys (whom I assumed were the villains) who looked like they were from Star Wars cause one was wearing a brown cloak and another was wearing a black cloak with his face hidden. It was just all very amusing...And any one cute guy named Jack is all right in my book! :)

Hmm...Jack and Daniel...I wonder if they did that on purpose...

Since I am lazy, I'm just going to point you in the right direction. There's alpha site info here (http://www.trickster.org/arduinna/stargate/sgc.html#alpha) specifiacally, but this site (http://www.trickster.org/arduinna/stargate/) kick major ass and has everything you ever wanted to know about the show. Absolutely brilliant resource.

Seriously, it's more of a plot device than anything. "Hey, we're stuck for ideas. Let's send them to the Alpha Site while we think up something better to do with them!" Which turns out wonderfully for fanfic writers, too, since they have basically free reign with it. Bwa ha!

LMAO! You gotta love the outs like that, no matter how badly ridden with plotholes it is. The writers must have a blast with crap like that. They're probably doing it just to see if they can get away with it. :P

Of course, if they did that, then where would they be in an emergency? Prepared? Nevah!! Where would the angst go then, all sad and homeless-like? ;) But honestly, that's so true. Cheyenne Mountain is big, but it makes more sense to have at least one off-world base, especially if they need to use if for quarantine purposes. Ah well, at least fic writers have all those openings to play with.

No worries! That site is awesome, everyone interested in SG-1 should at least stop by and browse. :)
