Stargate Question- help? :-(
May. 21st, 2004 11:44 amOkay... I've got a Stargate question, this time. Can't seem to find an answer that's helpful on the various sites out there in internet land
The Alpha Site... that was established in season 2 when they were evacuating Earth, right? And then I can't remember any other use of it until the Tok'ra and Jaffa are there with the SG in season 6.
I have a feeling they mentioned it a lot more between these two episodes/seasons. What am I missing? What have they been using it for during this time gap? When did the Jaffa move in (sometime after 'The Warrior' I expect?)
Thanks much... I usually need to watch things many times over to remember them. And some SG1 episodes I've only seen once or twice at most. So I don't feel quite as confident with the details as I'd like. Thanks!!!

Date: 2004-05-23 02:00 am (UTC)You sure it was actually Egypt? Loooots of places they go look like Egypt :-) But I can think of a couple episodes where they really were in Egypt.
But glad you watched it... and yes, Jack and Daniel are adorable *G* That certainly doesn't hurt things at all. Yummy boys :-)

Date: 2004-05-23 02:21 am (UTC)Well... when I listened to the movie commentary, they made no mention of name choices. I think they probably just wanted simple names... because all the other names (plants and bad guys, etc.) are very complicated ones. And they kept that trend with the new characters they introduced in the series.
heehee, go cute guys named Jack! :-)

Date: 2004-05-23 02:04 pm (UTC)heehee Go handy-dandy spare planet we have control of. My friends I was having dinner with (who are only up to season 4 in their watching) and I were debating over ice cream Friday night about why we don't try and colonize other planets... or at least set up emergency bases, etc. I mean, they're always having refuges and such and needing to put them somewhere safe until a world can be found. Makes sense to have a couple places they could go. But I suppose that takes a back seat to trying to find ways to protect the Earth :-)
Thanks again for the info!!! heehee I liked the comment on that first link you sent me about how for some reason there's a jail cell there. Yeah. Maybe illogical, but it's such an underdeveloped place that it totally works :-)

Date: 2004-05-23 02:33 pm (UTC)Of course, if they did that, then where would they be in an emergency? Prepared? Nevah!! Where would the angst go then, all sad and homeless-like? ;) But honestly, that's so true. Cheyenne Mountain is big, but it makes more sense to have at least one off-world base, especially if they need to use if for quarantine purposes. Ah well, at least fic writers have all those openings to play with.
No worries! That site is awesome, everyone interested in SG-1 should at least stop by and browse. :)
