QAF 4x01

Just watched the first QaF episode of season 4 for the second time... *sighs* Brilliant show. Not that I didn't see some of it coming a mile away... but bloody brilliant just the same. And I promise no big spoilers... but I must say:
1- the new opening is wonderful... though it's sort of sad that the old one's gone *sniffles*
2- Todd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freakin flipped out giggling my head off to see Todd and hear that line!!! I *so* missed that in the first episode of season 3!!!!!! I wonder if they filmed a scene with Todd and then edited it out for time? Or I wonder if they just slipped up and forgot? Either way I was giggling madly and bouncing in my seat. LMAO! Gods I love this show!

Still waiting for episode 2 to download... could take another 4 or 5 days at this rate... but I've only seen episode 1 twice now so I could stand seeing it again and again until then *sigh* LOVELY show. I love it much! And Todd! *giggles*

Refresh my memory, if you would. Who's Todd? I've seen about 4 episodes of season 4 so far, including the first, but obviously he must not have made much of an impression on me...

Todd's sort of an inside joke. During the season openers for seasons 1 and 2 in the back room of Babylon (or in the hall on the way to the bathrooms... which may very well be the same thing) Mikey greets one of the guys being ridden by saying "Hey, Todd. How's it going?" To which Todd answers both times "Fine" as he's taking it up the arse. So they did the same thing in episode 1 of season 4, only it was Justin who greeted and asked him, and got the same answer. Each moment is about 3-5 minutes into each episode, if you want to look 'em up.

It was just nice to see that consistency... something only we fans would pick up from seeing the shows so many damn times and all that. I was SO sad they didn't have it in the first episode of season 3! (And I remember watching 3x01 the first time and then immediately watching it again, thinking I might have missed it, but no) *pout* They probably cut it out for time or just plain forgot... but, still, it made me laugh for minutes to see they put it back in during this one! I like picking up on little things like that, is all. Makes me happy.

I know, I bloody SQUEALED when that happened. I grabbed my girlfriend's arm and shook her, going 'THEY BROUGHT TODD BACK! HE'S ALIVE!' She was... kind of scared, I think. LOL!

But aww, yay! I'm glad you're finally starting to watch Season 4. Because... it's just incredible. And I love, love, LOVE the new intro. Especially when Brian wipes the mirror down, and Justin's in the 'reflection', and when Mel, Linds, and Gus are doing 'happy feet'. Oh, and when Ben dances. Hee. Everytime that part comes up, I have to say "Get down, Ben!" It's just... like a habit, now. I don't even think about it, I just do it. And I love his scarf windingness and... yeah, I love the new intro. LOL I'm not sad to see the old one gone, I was never too fond of it. I think this one's better because it's the actual characters in the show and whee. And yeah, I'm firmly set in my mind that the men in tuxes are Ben and Michael. I am I am. :D Imma stop rambling now. ^-^;;

YAY Todd!!! heehee I hope they know how much their fans appreciate the little touches like that. And it's rather fitting that it's Justin, I think. I mean, compared to how he was in the first episode of the series... and know he knows Todd :-)

As for the intro... I didn't like the original intro at first, but it grew on me. I like that this one preserver the song and style a bit. As far as the original one goes... I liked the colors and the catchiness... and liked how it was nonspecific. It was very "everyman" and something to sort of build you up and get you in the mood. But I think the show's moved beyond that now... I mean, it was always sort of beyond that and much more focused on this specific set of characters. But now I think we can see the "everyman" in all of the characters. We can relate to them all in one way or another. And I like the dancing and ambiguity of it which has been retained.
Mel, Linds and Gus together are SOOO adorable! I definitely squeal every time at that part. And I missed the mirror bit the first time I saw it and was in awe of it the second time- because Justin is SO his equal in SO very many ways. And the scarf bit- I LOVE. I just about DIED when I read your post at the "Get down, Ben!" part. Because I've been giving him a "Ohhh Ben's getting down!" every time like a reflex. I honestly do. I just LOVE the way he's dancing there! As for the men in tuxes... first thing I thought was Brian and Justin. I know it's the most improbable thing in the world, but that's what popped into my mind. I think rewatching all of the QaF UK episodes these last two days has fucked with my mind. LOL (the Brian and Michael characters are much more involved in that series once it splits off and goes its own way... so the unrealistic doesn't seem so unrealistic after that... you know?) Anyway, I love the opening. The shirts, too. Yeah. It's able to address the general while still bringing in the specific characters and relationships. I like that much much.
