HBO meets Showtime
Jul. 12th, 2004 06:33 amWrote a bit today... taped 4400 because it looked good and I had to watch the Trading Spaces behind the scenes special and the new Six Feet Under episode. Incidentally... I taped the SciFi movie 'Strays' last week... it's playing right now behind me. Horrible movie, but main guy character has some damn cute sneezes... yeah, that's the reason I'm watching it at 6am when half the house is asleep ;-)
Anyhoo... back to Six Feet Under. The preview for next week's episode cracked me up. The two gay lads have finally settled into a rather regular light relationship after having had a rather rocky beginning and breakups. I adore the two of them... especially during their obligatory cuddle moments during each episode *sigh* but the preview for next week's episode featured them striking a deal with each other in that they were allowed to have sex with other people so long as it was only once with each guy. At which point I started laughing. Now, given the few gay lads I know who aren't in the 'settle down' mode yet, this is probably a pretty understandable and fair arrangement. But, still, it feels like they're pulling a Brian & Justin. I find it interesting, considering HBO and Showtime's little rivalries, that they'd write their characters going down such an obviously similar path. Not that I mind much... for as lovely as David and Keith are together, David was damn cute with the random plumber boy a few episodes back, too. But still... I find it veeeery interesting that they're not doing the normal settle down thing. Given their history I can see it... but I can't help but feel that the writers trying to make the relationship more exciting and upbeat. Personally I'd just be happy with more cuddling......
Gods this 'Strays' movie is horrible. *cringes* It's an hour over and practically nothing important has happened. It moves sooooo slowly... good thing I only taped it for the sneezing and the laughs. I'm enjoying both at least a little.
