New Journal
Aug. 16th, 2004 01:54 pmAll righty. Under the assumption that I would be able to keep track of things better if it was all in one place, I created a journal just for updates and news for the various sneeze fetish-related sites I maintain currently.
The username is
tg_sf_updates.
This will include updates and news for TOS, TG's Realm, Sneezefic Archive, Sneezefic Challenges, and the Weekly Plot Bunny Hatching for sneezefic. I will still make the usual announcements on the sneezefic group for the archive and weekly hatchings but they will be repeated on this new LJ to alert LJ users who friend this new account of mine.

Date: 2004-08-16 07:28 pm (UTC)Well, it's up and running. It's not a community (I'm going to let the yahoo group continue that honor) but I had fun making new user icons for the various updates at least :-)

Date: 2004-08-17 10:22 am (UTC)Adding them to the archive (author's pages, etc.) took probably another 3 hours because I do it by hand and snowshie used Adobe and so the WYSIWYG code was all over the dang place. And it took a while to get used to someone else's archiving and file systems. But once I got the hang of it each story took about 3 or 4 minutes to add. new author pages took about 10 minutes because I had to chase down their e-mail addies as well.
The hardest part is going to be setting up a method to keep track of all incoming stories instead of just leisurly reading them as I do now.

Date: 2004-08-17 10:27 am (UTC)But just look at TOS. I don't update that anymore. I need to get off my arse and officially close it. I'm totally not moved to keep working on that. And I can't get up the guts to give it over to someone. That takes more courage to do that let a site sit and collect dust.
And thank *you* for making the site so well organized and easy to work with! Not to mention the fact that most of the fics for this one were already coded. It's going to be difficult for me on the next update without that nice "to code" list of yours :-) I'm just not used to watching the yahoo group like that.

Date: 2004-09-06 10:07 am (UTC)LOL No worries! I'm a big nerd when it comes to having sites well organized. Just makes things easier all around. ;) It really does feel strange not to have to watch the list in that way, either. I don't have to keep everything in my inbox anymore! Yay!
Oh, and out of the blue, do you want a gmail invite? I need to get rid of a few. lol

Date: 2004-09-06 10:20 am (UTC)I think what I'm leaning towards is making it officially closed to all new donations and cleaning up unfinished parts so they look/sound finished. I'd like to still keep it online for archive purposes, however, because it does contain more than just my things. I just think other sites have taken over its roles for people donating new things so there's no use for TOS to be alive doing that. Every so often I do find new pictures or things I throw in folders to put up there. Or I get vids or something. But I think it'd be better to just make a public announcement that it's closed forever. That just hurts to do... *sigh* We'll see.

Well, if you happen to notice me missing anything, let me know. But I'm glad you can enjoy the list without stalking it now. I think with things like public archives it makes sense to rotate responsibilities so that none of us feels too bogged down/pressured.

I appreciate the offer. I've heard a mix of good and bad about gmail... but having another e-mail addie at this point in my life would probably be a good idea... Hrm. Give me a day to think on that? Thanks

I absolutely will! I know it helps a lot having anybody pick out things that you might have missed, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out. And the offer to help still stands - if you get too busy or whatever, just feel free to ask. :)
Sure thing! I've heard there are some security risks with google because of the nature of the ads, and the ability to search through your messages (but in all honesty, when aren't there on the 'net from a free service? besides, it's still beta *shrugs*) but if you're going to be using it for the community, it wouldn't really be all that much of a problem. Personally, I've found it to be very cool and useful, and hell, you get a gig of space. Can't go wrong with that. ;) Let me know if you do want it later on! :)
