This has been an interesting day!
What with the storm last night (lots of tornado damage about 20 minutes from where I live) and power flickering on and off all morning, it started out interesting :-)
We rented Notting Hill, which I'd never seen before. I liked it a lot *snuggles Hugh* and the ending was adorable. She did a lot of growing up in a year. But I still would have preferred him saying no and that being it. I SO want his home and his bookstore, though! Guhhh. Men with bookstores is my new weakness. LOL! *shuffles off to go write more bookstore-owner!Remus-fic*
Got a reply to the Wolf's Rain drabble I posted on a SLASH WR list. The response was just about: "I don't like yaoi in this fandom but that wasn't as bad as my fics" Huh? WTF are you doing on a slash list then? It's not the best drabble, so I didn't expect flowery compliments but huh? *is confuzzled*
I'm trying to update my site but it's taking FOREVER to upload the video clips. *shakes fist at geocities* I'll get it done before I go to sleep tonight, though! That and announcing the weekly challenge thingy. Check my update journal! :-)
But the BEST news of the day... the thing that had me floored and sobbing... was an e-mail from an old internet friend I'd lost touch with (utterly and completely my fault, not hers). She was my dearest, sweetest friend online (and just as dear and sweet offline as well) and suddenly, out of the blue, I get an e-mail from her tonight when I log on to my tarotgal account. I was floored. Absolutely floored. Very excited. I feel horribly guilty but I SO miss her and can't wait to hear what she's up to now. It was thrilling. Very thrilling. SO excited I am!! *bounces up and down* Some days you feel like you're nobody and then stuff like this happens, you know? I love. *sigh* I so missed her! *sniffles*
Oh, and speaking of long lost friends... looks like "frickandfrack" set up a new yahoo group for slash fics. Yeah. Go them/her. I don't really know why we need one... did/does anybody object to my posting my racy fanfic on sneezefic? I don't plan to post there, but I'll probably watch it. Anywhere where het isn't welcome is a good place for me to hang. But as I've been less than thrilled with the moderator *cough*givememydamnmoneybackplease?*cough* I probably won't post there.
Today's fic exploits:
That's it. Not a lot of writing, really. Spent most of the fandom-related portion of my day working on the update that still hasn't happened. *crosses fingers*

Today's fic exploits:
- Wrote a bit of my Sirius/James fic. (No sneezing) I'm really happy with it. It's light, it's dark, it's moody, it's funny. I like it and I'm hoping to finish it soon! But I say that about all the stories, don't I? LOL
- Wrote more of the recently-started Obi-sneezefic. It's going well as well. Haven't hit any walls yet.
- Wrote out in longhand another couple pages of the dog-walking original characters fic. It's getting there.
That's it. Not a lot of writing, really. Spent most of the fandom-related portion of my day working on the update that still hasn't happened. *crosses fingers*

Date: 2004-09-19 03:36 am (UTC)*Squeal!* *loves much muchly!* Yay update! ^_^ Did you get those Saiyuki clips ok? (worries too much) Sorry if they are crap, it was like, the third time I ever opened the program and they were a huge improvment from the first time. Lol!!
Ok, now I'm just jealous of you. Lol! I've been working on (or trying to) the same fic for like...5 days. XD!

I sure don't, but some might? Who knows? I'mma watch it too, but like the other. Even though my butt needs to write more. Hopefully my current fic should be up soon. ...I need to make a filter to update such things...hmm. Yay! I talked enough. ^_^;;

Date: 2004-09-19 04:14 am (UTC)The WORST part of it is, that we just had a whole unloading discussion onlist about flames as feedback that insulted our slash preferences, when it was clearly marked in the warning section. And then it goes and happens on the list less than a day later. Not that what I got was a flame... it was just... HUH? Why are you here? Some people... LOL
*Squeal!* *loves much muchly!* Yay update! ^_^
You might want to wait until tomorrow for some of the vid clips (the last 2 are slowly being uploaded now) but, yes, there you go :-)

I was just about to e-mail you about that. I'm on dial-up. I've been trying for a day now to get the clips. It keeps half downloading and stopping. Could you maybe split the files up into 2 or 3 (or 4?) separate files? Then I might have a hope of downloading them. Sorry. My connection suckith much. I just won't let me get to the files. 30MB is too big all at one time. I'm eager to see them, though! Thank you!
And thank you for the series into in e-mail. I'm not really into buying illegal copies off e-bay/the internet but the info helps. Thanks!
Ok, now I'm just jealous of you. Lol! I've been working on (or trying to) the same fic for like...5 days. XD!
No worries. I jump around a lot, sometimes. And other times I stick with one fic and write lots at one time. It really varies. My muses are jumpy, lately. But I'm looking forward to your fic! Good luck with the final bits/edits! :-)
I sure don't, but some might? Who knows? I'mma watch it too, but like the other.
The sneezefic list is very slash-friendly. And no one's objected to racy stuff before, so long as it was well-marked as such. So I just don't know why there's need for a new community. There's already a separate femslash community, after all. Ah well. All personal feelings about the mod aside, I will be interested to see how it goes. It'll be nice to have a place where I don't have to wade through het, though. LOL I'm terrible :-)

Date: 2004-09-19 04:38 am (UTC)I've been trying for a day now to get the clips. It keeps half downloading and stopping. Ohh no! I totally didn't think about that. I'll seperate them and put them up as soon as I send this comment. I'm sooo sorry about that, LOL, I thought it would have been easier.
Ahno, these aren't illegal, they are the subs, though. I guess that's why they are a lot cheaper than getting the dubs for like...30$ for only like 3 episodes. Then again, I'm an internet-shopper a holic and if I can get a new dvd from eBay for 6$, I go for it. LOL That's just me. :D But yeah! I'm like, Miss Saiyuki now and trying to pass off the coolness around to everyone. XD
I had to smack the crap out of my own muses and then tie and gag them so I can actually finish the things I start. So far the fic is up to 9 pages (yipe!) but I just...can't end it for some reason. Very weird.
It'll be nice to have a place where I don't have to wade through het, though. LOL I'm terrible :-)
LOL!!! If you are than I am. Eeee, through all my fandoms I only like one het pairing and that's really saying something.
Ok, gonna fix those clips and then...bed time. ^_^

Date: 2004-09-19 05:53 am (UTC)WTF are you doing on a slash list then?
Yes! The same twit who made that comment about your drabble said something about that not too long after she got on-list to someone who was looking for a beta reader. I boggled. Then I wondered if she was even old enough to be on-list. Then I tuned her out completely.
Isn't it wonderful to reconnect with old friends? That's happened to me so many times since I got pulled on to LJ, and each time it feels so good!
I never object to racy fic, fan- or original. I'm watching the group because I'm a fic ho and don't want to miss anything, but if I ever a) finish any of the bajillion fics I've started, and b) get up the nerve to post them once they're done, that's not where they're destined to go.
