Alan & Liam
Sep. 21st, 2004 02:40 amSo Hermione was watching Love Actually tonight, and we had a tiny LJ conversation about it, revolving mostly around Alan and Liam. *happy sigh*
So I broke down and dug out 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' on video and watched that. *swoons* I swear I'm going to have to steal some of that for a fic. It's just too bloody adorable to resist. I feel awful about it, and I'll give it credit... it's just too good. Since he's not hanging around Nina can he come haunt my place? Pleeease? *goes all weak and mushy at the thought*
Then I went down to exercise again and turned on the TV to find 'Michael Collins' was on! Talk about fortuitous! Came in halfway through but I watched it anyway. Alan with an Irish accent gets me every time! *drool* Then again, I even loved him with a southern accent (and I'm not terribly fond of those). But it was creepy, talking about Liam and Alan and then suddenly turning on the TV to find them in a movie together *G* Good-creepy, though. Not bad-creepy. As though anything Liam-related could be bad...
'Total Eclipse' was also on, but with only 15 minutes to go. DAMN! I really wanted to see that movie. Leo and David and poetry and... yeah, Leo wasn't looking good when I tuned it (poor thing!), so I watched Michael Collins instead. First time I've seen it since I went to Ireland. Got lots of goosebumps. That was great :-)
Anyhoo... thought I'd share the goodness.

Date: 2004-09-21 09:34 am (UTC)Alan's character made me growl! I adored Liam's character. Although (as always) was partial to Colin's character. the whole straight-lace, but somewhat easily flummoxed character that he can portray is just Adorable. And the girlfriend that he had in the beginning just didn't know what she was missing.

I growled a bit as well... but I can't say I'm surprised, knowing men. And I liked the way we see him caving to temptation first and then when we start to realize he's giving in, we find he's already married. Grrrr! But Emma's character wouldn't have heartache if she hadn't actually learned how to feel and fallen in love. It's an important characteristic of love. And their reunion a month later was very nicely done.
I adored Liam's character.
How could anyone not? Such a sweetie!

I noticed she wasn't with his brother the next time we see his brother hovering in the back of their family gathering. Ha ha! Definitely her loss as Jamie was so lovingly sweet and romantic and sensitive *sigh* I definitely loved him.
