Comics, fics, and ramblings
Oct. 4th, 2004 05:02 amI had a strange dream last night. I dreamt Lady Korana (probably because hers was the last post I replied to before going to sleep last night- LOL) came over and wanted to know if I was going to the student union to see the early release presentation of the RotK EE. I went, of course. Big group of friends. From what I recall, we spent most of the time trying to find a bathroom. But scenes I recall from the movie were of a dragon eating Gandalf in one swallow (from which he escaped in a display I don't really want to describe- but I think this was inspired by my oggling over the plush Black Beast of Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh toy in a catalog I saw yesterday), and a Nazgul eating Gollum while hobbits were hunting for easter eggs. Was a STRANGE dream.
Ahhhhh. You know it's starting to be cold and flu season when the comics are filled with sneezes *EG* Beetle Bailey had a great one today, but the online version doesn't show up until 2 weeks after publication. But this one was interesting as it goes into the whole "bless you" thing :-)

The first frame (title frame) is cut out in the online version, but it's the sneezing woman's build-up.
Fics:

Fics:
- Just Obi. Wrote and posted another part of the Obi fic. I'm feeling very rushed, but am enjoying it. Force-willing, I'll be able to keep up for the rest of the month. I wrote out a more formal list of all the parts I have planned. I think this leaves 8 sections I don't yet have planned (including day 6 at the moment) so that's really not bad! I shouldn't have too much of a problem with getting stuck and all. *crosses fingers yet again*
- I really need to get that Gravi fic done. I am honestly stuck on the very last paragraph. I feel like putting a gun to K's head and threatening him to tell me how to end the damn thing. LOL

Date: 2004-10-04 10:13 am (UTC)Wow! Good luck on your fic, I'm too scared to do anything more than a PWP, myself. *admires*
Lol! I dunno, K might like that. XD I hate having trouble ending things, it happened to me with the Saiyuki fic. x.x

Date: 2004-10-04 03:19 pm (UTC)Sorry, did it say that you posted more of the obi fic? Which part, because I only read up to three and if there's a part 4 out, I can't find it anywhere. But if there's not, then I must be mistaken. I love it, I seriously am in utter love with this fic.
Your feedback of my feedback was wonderful. Made me smile. Can I just say that Circe is right, Hermione gets to read all of the obi fic for the first time? Narrhrhhhhhhhrhrhrhr. Grr. Heh, sorry lost myself for a brief moment. Lucky girl.
I totally wasn't hinting, but now that I see it, Obi's recovery seems a bit like a small miracle during that part Qui re-appears, so now I do agree just a tad on that one.
OT: It seems that I have such a full load of work at the moment, and you seem to also. Do you wanna do the SF Halloween challenge or just leave it to someone else? We can inquire on the webpage if anyone's interested. I may be able to swing a bit, but not as much as I would normally be able to do, I have more work than I can keep track of. Lemme know what you think, if you wanna discuss it privately, just write Lakittychat@aol.com and I can give you my personal addy and we can discuss more if you'd like. Replies here are fine too. Just lemme know.
Cheers and I can't wait for the next part!

Date: 2004-10-04 03:36 pm (UTC)I've had dreams like that before, where I get ahold of a new book or movie months before the actual release date, or miraculously stumble across a secret lost book that continues the story of characters I love. While I'm dreaming, it's very real. I can see the letters on the book pages, hear the commercials between stretches of a tv episode...but when I wake up it's almost heartbreaking to realize it wasn't real, to know I'll never finish the story I was so enjoying.
Of course, then there are the wacked out dreams, that mix fandoms (or have wizards being swallowed by dragons, etc.). The mental image of hobbits hunting for Easter eggs is certainly cute though!
Thanks for sharing both your dream and the comics!
