Oh a COMPLETELY different note... I've really been in the mood to write short fics again. I already have a bunny I desperately need to and intend to write for circe... and with all my other fics I REALLY shouldn't be asking... but I've not been able to keep up with peoples' birthdays and I feel badly about that. I've been throwing the idea around in my head for the last 3 or 4 days and it's decided that it will fall out now:
If anyone wants me to write you a really short fic (like 1-3 pages) for the winter holidays, comment here with:
-Fandom (only ones I'm familiar with- ask if you're not sure if I know it)
-Pairing(s) (obviously I prefer to write slash, but I'll do my best with anything het or gen)
-General rating (and/or specific stopping points. ex: kissing but no sex... or sex but nothing graphic)
-Situations, kinks, elements, sneezing/no sneezing, etc. (feel free to specify as much as you like here because the more you include, the easier it is for me to write!)
-Which holidays you celebrate (so I know when to try and have it done. If you don't specify one, I'll post it on New Year's)
Additional things: Only one request per person (so make it a good one). If you want me to write an original character fic, I can do that, too (just specify so under fandom). I'm going to keep this offer open so long as I don't get completely bombarded with requests. I do have a real life, after all. I can't be writing 100 fics for people. And if I do get too many requests, preference goes to LJ and sneezefic group friends, obviously. And if I honestly don't think I can write your request, I reserve the right to tell you this and ask you to pick another. Okay. Yeah. I think that's it. :-)

As utterly stupid as this sounds, I've actually been in the mood to write a spanking into something. I've played around with it as far as Obi & Qui are concerned but nothing I've ever managed to finish. So that would be a lot of fun to write... as soon as I can figure out how to write it in there. And build-ups... absolutely. You know how much I love those.

So I should definitely be able to handle this. Though the hardest part will definitely be Christmas!Logan. Considering series canon in that area, and all. I know deep down he's just a sweet puppy with the spirit of Christmas in his heart and all. He's just not so good at readily expressing that. So that will be a bit of a challenge. But I like a challenge. And I like the characters. And for some horrible reason (blame the pervy werewolf community) I love Christmas items in connection with sex. Yum.

I've gotten used to nobody knowing anything about my favorite things so no problem on that. I guess I like un-popular or un-fanfic-able things! As for requesting something, I always seem to feel incredibly guilty when I ask somebody to do something for me. I feel like I'm taking advantage of them, even if they offered (especially if I haven't contributed anything of any worth). It's a very nice offer though but I just couldn't. I like surprises though, just not ones I ask for. I think I'll just sit back and enjoy all the other things going on.

I'm sorry to say that I'm not into the anime themed fics. It's just something I've never gotten into. I see that those types of things are very popular but I really don't like those kinds of things (don't kill me!). In that sense I suppose it's a trade off although I seem to think I got the short end of the stick which in the end is my fault since I seem to have such narrow subject matters that I like to write about.

Did that make any sense at all or was I just rambling again? LOL.

I'd feel much more comfy writing an Inuyasha fic, if that's all right. I missed one episode of WHR and so I haven't finished the series because I want to watch it all in order.

And though I slash the Inuyasha fandom to bits in my head at times (LOL) I'd have no problem making it het for you! I dig the chicas :-)

Whoah, I get home from visiting my parents for Thanksgiving and look what I missed! What an incredibly generous offer, especially during such a busy time of year. *hugs* You're a wonderful person, tg.

Now, on to my request: I'd like some sneezy sick Legolas please! (No shocker here*G*) More specifically, I want to see Legolas in formal elven robes, fighting off a miserable cold, trying to pretend he's well and go about his duties, before he's eventually forced into bed. And lots and lots of build-ups, pretty pretty please!!!

I have two scenarios I've been dying to see this played out in. I think they'd both work equally well, so I'll let you pick which you'd prefer and you can file the other one away for a later bunny if you wish.

1. Borrowing a commonly used theme for Obi-Wan, I'd like to see Legolas ill at a formal banquet with most of his friends and some of visiting dignitaries present. This can be slash or not, but I'd prefer nothing more racy than cuddling, since I want to see the elf too sick to feel like sex. (Cruel, aren't I? *G*). I'd also love it if you could include at least one hobbit in this scenario. Those guys don't get enough fic recognition, and I'd like to see how one reacts to an elf falling ill.

2. I'd love to read a prequel to your story about control, the one where Gimli faces the storm to care for Legolas. Feel free to play with the timeline and whatnot, but I'd like to see Legolas acting as Elf Lord in Ithilien while coming down with a cold. Naturally, Gimli arrives eventually to provide the sweet comfort.

*Rereads above* Whew...hope I didn't overwhelm you. I'm so sorry if you feel I'm being too picky, and if you don't like these ideas, I'll happily take whatever's offered. Thanks for letting me write down and share these little fantasies, at least!

I'm shocked! ;-) But honestly, very pleased.

I've been thinking about both of these scenarios in great detail today while driving about... I still have not decided which to write, however. I want- and WILL write them both eventually. But which to pick for this... hrm. Can't decide. Here's my current logic, though, maybe you can help:

Scenario 2. I have all SORTS of images going through my mind about this one. It would be a breeze to write. However, if I write it the way it's playing out in my head, it's going to need at least 20 pages. Most likely, more. Plus, I need time to be creative and think about what it is Legolas would actually do as an Elf Lord. (I'm open to any and all suggestions from you on the point... because all the stuff I seem to be thinking up are things from other fics and I have to keep pushing myself away from that). So one possibility would be writing part of this- a scene or two. An abridged version of the longer story of this going through my head. I'd really rather not since I'd end up just picking the best parts and then the final, longer version would be really boring to read afterwards having already read the good moments.

Scenario 1. I'm dying to write this. But I'm nervous about it sounding like a half dozen other fics with similar ideas... I'll have to concentrate on style and try to come up with some original elements. And the hobbit... I totally agree with you and it would make for a much more interesting fic in the end. But I'm a little nervous about writing one/more than one in such a short/rushed period of time as I've SO little experience with them. But if you could maybe suggest one to use... to keep me from running around in circles trying to write one into the scene I can work with as I've been doing all day... that would be very helpful.

So, yeah, I think I'm going to have to pick #1 for this... but I do want to write both eventually! I'm still not completely decided... but my point here is, yes, absolutely, I'll write you something.

Now, give me a hobbit or two that you see in the scene. LOL!

Ooooh! The thought of a fic that long filled with the sort of delicious images you're so good at gives me chills! Definitely take however long you need to write the fic in a way you're comfortable with...I would feel terribly badly if I rushed you, and I have complete faith in the fact that whatever you end up writing would be worth the wait.

Plus, I need time to be creative and think about what it is Legolas would actually do as an Elf Lord.
That's a very, very good question...one that had me doing some serious thinking tonight. I suppose it would largely depend on how far after ROTK we are talking. If it's in the beginning stages of forming his colony in Ithilien, I imagine he'd be incredibly swamped with defining territory, recruiting elves to join him, planning buildings, establishing trade agreements between the elves and their mortal neighbors as well as the other remaining Elven territories, etc.
Later on, after his colony is well-established, I think his workload would decrease some and he'd make a point to try and go for rides, visit friends, etc., but it would still be necessary for him to oversee all the major decision-making processes for his people. He might hold some sort of court (though I imagine it would be much more relaxed than his father's court) and listen to petitions, settle disputes, etc. Also, he might do some work on trying to heal the wounds in the land caused by all those years of close proximity to Mordor's evil...this is one of those things that is canon; his people did this, and he helped beautify the gardens in Minas Tirith as well. How exactly they healed the land, I have no idea, but Aragorn sure was lucky he had someone to help make Ithilien all pretty again *G*

Now I'm sorry I made that comment about Obi-Wan fics. I was so hoping you wouldn't take that the wrong way. Never fear...it's a really enjoyable concept that is always welcome, and one that I don't believe I've seen done yet for LOTR fic. One of the things I think might make it differ from other fics is that I was hoping that the presence of so many of Legolas's friends might lend to a tone more of warm concern and a little bit less stiff formality... maybe have something from a different point of view, I dunno. Whatever works for you is fine for me!

As for the hobbit, again it depends on timeline. Logistically, it would be much easier to have it be Merry or Pip than try and work it around Frodo's angst or Sam's rapidly expanding family. It also makes more sense when you consider Merry's tie to Rohan and Pip's to Gondor. I do, also, harbor a secret wish to see a cheerful hobbit carrying a tray laden with goodies to tempt an elf's appetite and/or make him feel better, and present it proudly to Legolas. If that doesn't fit within the fic constraints, no problem...just file it away for future reference, along with any other plot bunny I manage to produce! Hope that helps!

I started crying halfway through the description of the cast material on the bonus discs. Watching this DVD set is going to be an incredibly bittersweet experience. *sniffle*

As it is, I managed to spoil myself as to who wins the drinking game, and now I really, really wish I hadn't read it. So beware spoilers and read at your own risk!

Hrm... I think I could handle that. I'm crap at writing things from the original trilogy, but I'll give it a shot for you. I think I could handle a Luke-on-Hoth fic. Or have you written one set then already and thus have no interest in seeing one? I haven't read any of your OrigTrilogy fics yet so I'm not sure what you've already written. But I'm sure I'd do a better Luke-on-Hoth fic than a Hanfic at this point in time.
