Follow the fake LJ cut to my (Gift for LadyKorana) Belated happy holidays, and have a very good new year!

Of the two ideas you suggested, I decided not to select one because I wouldn't be able to write it in my intended 1 to 3 pages. This one ended up taking me 14 pages... I don't exactly know why, either. Elf is sick, goes to dinner, tries not to sneeze, goes back to his room. Doesn't seem like it would be so long, does it? LOL
I hope I didn't overdo the food references/humor. It is dinner so I wanted to work with what I had and call attention to the circumstances. A few places still need a little bit of cleaning, I think, as well. Sorry about that (and any other stupid errors I didn't catch- I caught a lot, but I can't imagine all). But I hope I managed to do the characters justice. I'm still very nervous about writing hobbits! Not to mention the fact that large group stories intimidate me. But I really hope you like the story. Feel better!!

Actually, I already have read it again. *G* And fear not, it was just as enjoyable the second time! In fact, I think I'm coming to prefer fics where Legolas is sick in a stone dwelling of mortals, as opposed to the woods of his people...he's more vulnerable and out of his element. *evil grin*

I know what you mean about large groups of people being intimidating to write. It's what's kept me from attempting to write many of the ideas that pop into my head, which is why I was so delighted to have the opportunity to foist this one upon someone else .(j/k) Seriously though, I thought you did a wonderful job, especially with the hobbits. And no, I didn't find the descriptions of food distracting, though like Legolas, I find the thought of soup and water the most appealing at this moment. *G*

Anyway, thanks again...now I think it's time for a nap on the couch. This fic, and 'Brassed Off', which I just finished watching, have put me into a blissful, dreamy mood...
