Uh... I know he's LOST but methinks that he should have rephrased that
Thanks for the warm wishes/hugs... and the recs. Even if I didn't get to them last night, I look forward to having some good reading later today/tomorrow :-) *HUGE HUGS*
Day was full of goods and bads today. Somehow slept right through my alarm- which I've only ever done twice in my life. Woke up at 10:16 and I was supposed to be at work by 10:30. Called boss and he said no worries. He had to leave to get his wife at the airport anyway. I didn't go back to sleep, though. I looked out and saw... it was snowing! Yay snow!!!
It's our first snowfall of the season. I know, everyone's had like a gazillion for months now but DC has been unusually warm so this was THRILLING for me! I took some pictures, too. My digital camera has a snow setting but through the window it made all the pictures go all blurry. So I just used the scenery setting instead. Was fun, though.
Took dog out at least 4 times today. He looooooooves the snow! He burrows into the big piles and SPRINTS from point A until he gets to the end of the leash and gets choked. So I did a lot of running behind him to keep him from killing himself. But it was great- fresh powdery snow everywhere. Everyone was at work and so there were no tracks or anything all over the neighborhood. It was great fun.
Then the dentist called- they closed early so I had to reschedule. Doh! Was rather funny, the secretary kept trying to reschedule on days when I already had appointments. LOL But eventually I got another one.
So I had the whole day to do nothing. Well, not nothing. I did a bit of work. And I wrote. And I finished watching 'Guinevere' which had a great musical score and two cute guys... and Morgan L'Fei and the pagan overtones were brilliant. But those are the only good things I can say about it. Definitely worth $3, though.
I'm watching The Village tonight. Started it earlier... totally got all warm and fuzzy during the scene early in with the cold, shivery watchman *EG* I had other stuff to do tonight, like find out prices of car batteries, so I had to stop it early in. I'll finish it tonight. I hate doing that, but it's better than getting completely invested and having to stop. One part actually made me jump, though. I NEVER jump at these sorts of movies. They may startle me, but not to that point. So that was thrilling :-)
OH! And I called and got my cell phone straightened out again. So that's good news. I now have a working cell phone again. Makes me feel a bit safer, I must admit. I still bloody hate phones, though.
Anyhoo... had a relatively good day today. Feel stupid about sleeping in and missing work... and I wish I'd been able to get the dentist thing over with... but I was SUCH a mess last night (felt so sick as I was going through the nightly chores, I just wanted to curl up and die... so maybe getting an extra hour and a half of sleep was a good thing!)
Oh, ah, fic progress... the Obi fic has hit a wall. I don't really like it AT ALL. My style is all broken and wrong and ick... I hate the current part I'm writing. If it doens't improve, I'm going to toss it out completely. Grrr. I hate doing that. I did start another HP fic for the challenge, though. My style still sucks and tone is really strange/broken... I don't like it either but I think it's work continuing with. If it sucks, then it sucks, right? My hands feel all strange and stiff when I try to type and the words are all coming out wrong. This happens a couple times a year. Things I see in my head just don't want to come out through my fingers. WOULD have to happen as a challenge deadline comes at me though, wouldn't it? Grrr. Stupid muses!

Date: 2005-01-20 10:03 am (UTC)You are so lucky to have snow! I envy you. Snowing a hell of a lot in the mountains, though. Maybe it's best for my dog, though. Don't know how well she'd react, she doesn't even like to swim.
Glad you had a better day!
