Why is it that I get *SO* much more done at work on the days when my Boss isn't here? Strange, that.
Anyeay, this post is just odds and ends since I'm writing from work and don't want to actually go into my journal... LOL They're comments & replies to comments/questions I haven't had time to reply to yet.
Hermione- Loved seeing the pics of you on your LJ. My mental image of you (which is one part hobbit- well, with the hair at least- and one part Hermione Granger) isn't actually all that off :-) You're very cute. Go you!
SS- Absolutely re: sexy wheelchair boys. Nummy Spike *EG* I adore Jason's character in Joan of Arcadia, to add another to the list. Also, I did get part 2 in my e-mail over the weekend of that R/S story. Soooo adorable!! Thank you!
BVB- thanks so much for the onlist fb on the LotR fic!
Meg- Your car sounds very with the cute. I love cars with personality :-) And that sticker is hilarious! I'm a big Rock-Paper-Scissors fan *G* As for the aminals- thanks. My parents' dog is a Scottish breed and LOVES all weather. You probably didn't read the new original fic of mine 'Dog Walking' but the terrier in that is based off my parents' dog. He rolls around in leaves and snow and grass and LOVES the rain. He treats rain-soaked grass like a slip & slide. But I bet he would adore the sand. You should totally take yours to the beach and see what happens. My family is thinking of driving out to Cali this summer instead of flying and if we do we'll bring the dog and introduce him to the sand.
Circe- on the drive to work this morning I came up with a part 4 in the series. I'm totally inspired now to play with these boys. I'll try to have the sequel up in the next day or so (I keep editing and adding scentences here and there) but I'm thrilled you'd be interested in reading it. I write so little original fiction lately and so rarely get feedback for that which I do write. So yay! Thanks!
And I cannot remember who asked, but someone last week or week before or something asked about where I work. I call myself a personal assistant, but Boss still hasn't come up with a title for me. He calls me the office manager and vice president of research and technology or something. I work for a tiny Healthcare provider- and by tiny I mean there are two of us and it's run out of his kitchen. So on any given day I'm doing anything from taking care of personal stuff to doing actual healthcare-related stuff. So one minute I might be mailing letters and cataloging vet/credit card bills and the next I might be ordering vitamins or writing grants for mediation work. It's totally off the wall and weird... and doesn't require much in the way of actual skills apart from writing and maintaining the website and organizing. But I sort of like having a small job where I'm not really required to think for a change. LOL And the hours are flexible. Sometimes 3 hours one day, sometimes 8 the next. Totally up to whatever else is going on in life. So that's nice. It's a really weird arrangement but it pays the bills. When I remind him to pay me, that is.
Okay... that's all I can think of at the moment.

Date: 2005-03-07 10:58 pm (UTC)Your dog sounds so much more adventurous more than mine. When ever I take her out for runs and such she always wants to go over and check out other dogs but once she gets close to them she becomes scared and hides behind me. We got her from the pound and have a feeling she might have been abused from the way she acts and she because she has a scar on her nose. We've only put her in a swimming pool to she if she likes to swim. I really want to take her to the beach, though; just to see what she would do. Maybe I'll have to take her to Santa Cruz this weekend if the weather stays nice...

Date: 2005-03-08 12:11 pm (UTC)Can you point me in the direction of the yummy, please?
And before I go, I should add that I'm not an apotemnophile or a "devotee," as many who admire folks with amputations call themselves, just one kind of cripple grrl who digs other cripples, sometimes, in some ways. The whole "people who are attracted to wheelchairs/amps/crutches/leg braces" thang is a subject of hot and bothersome debate in my academic world, but I have yet to write anything on that, really. I'm just enjoying the hotness. ;)
Ahem. Right-o, carry on. Nothing to see here...
