Tired... again
Apr. 7th, 2005 07:30 pmI bought skittles today! Apart from being my favorite grocery store candy (tied for first with Starburst) it's got Obi-Wan on it! I get the BIGGEST slashy kick out of the rainbow coming out of the lightsaber right next to Obi and the phrase "Use the Force. Experience the rainbow!" *giggles madly* Okay, yeah, doesn't take much to make me happy. *pets the image of Obi-Wan*
Hopefully the package will help inspire me to write this long SW fic circe's been sweet enough to agree to beta for me. I've just been so tired I couldn't sit here and write without falling asleep. Maybe I need to break out the notebook again.
I'm so incredibly exhausted again today. Don't feel like I have the energy to do anything. Blah. I don't think this icky hot weather is helping any. Gah, I hate hot. Hot is icky. Icky icky icky. Bring back the cold and the snow! At least it rained a lot today- that was good.
My parents just bought a storage unit last week. It's a few down from mine but theirs is small and mine... well... fits much of my apartment in it. heehee. I took photos of the unit today and am going to post them on my photoblog in a few minutes.

Date: 2005-04-08 06:29 am (UTC)However, today it was 20 degrees colder, cloudy and rainy...you would have loved it. *G* It's perfect sleep-in weather, and I wish I hadn't had to get up and go to work. Nothing beats lying in bed listening to the rain, except for maybe watching the lighting at dusk...the best thing about summer is the storms, IMHO.

Date: 2005-04-08 07:26 am (UTC)I remember how they didn't do many promotional tie-ins for Episode II. They did a lot with Episode I (I still have empty Pepsi cans with the characters on them and Taco Bell toys) but that movie turned out to be disappointing to fans so maybe they didn't want to get their hopes up? I don't know.

Date: 2005-04-08 06:17 pm (UTC)The M&M bags are incredibly clever, though. I like that they put so much thought into it. I don't ever go out of my way to buy chocolate, but the triva on the bags alone might be enough!
Did they not do a lot for EpII? I remember Pringles and soda (Pepsi?) and some cereals at least. Not as much as I & III though, I'm sure. They probably realized after II that even if the movies suck, fans are still going to go out of their way to see them so they might as well hype it all they can. Or maybe they're hoping all this hype will lure more people into going. Or both. I don't know either, but I like all the funny tie-ins! :-)

Date: 2005-04-09 08:37 pm (UTC)I also have to wonder if the marketing effort is being pushed harder due to some perception that the SW franchise is coming to an end. I'm not saying that it *is* ending, and I'd be interested to see a "third generation" SW movie, with Han/Leia's kids or other Jedi Academy folks, but it also feels as if the original SW story arc is coming full circle with Anakin Skywalker turning from the light side to the dark side of the force and becoming Darth Vader (Dark Father). That was always the big question I had about Anakin/DV's character, the "how did he get that way?" pondering, and I guess we'll all find out fairly soon. Just no more JarJar Binks, thankyouverymuch. I'm opposed to the Stepin Fetchit "yes, Massah, we sure does like watermelon" stereotype he seemed built around.
