tarotgal: (Make the muses happy!)

Went to the dump on Wednesday- my day off- to help Mom get rid of the "pink chair". The street that the waste disposal center is on is called... are you ready... Mordor. Had a huge laugh over that one as we tossed our "precious" chair over the side and into the bottomless pit for it to be destroyed. Someone MUST have had a brilliant day when they named that street!

Went to IKEA after that and got another Poang chair to replace the old pink chair. Hopefully the dog will not suddenly decide to start urinating on it.

Sent in Quarter 1 Tax returns yesterday with payments to the IRS and state. That was exciting :-)

I've been working out like mad the last two days. My body is very sore and tired today so I might take a day off. I slammed my knees against the exercise bike yesterday and, despite ice packs, have HUGE bruises on both. I still worked out yesterday but it might be nice to take a day off. I got my 'Songs of Experience, Songs of Innocence' SW MA Fanzine in the mail Monday and have promised myself not to look at it until I get down to my ultimate goal weight. I'd like to lose 4 pounds by my birthday, though. That would rockith. Though I doubt I'm going to make it. I seem to be putting on muscle more than I am losing anything. Which is good, sure, but frustrating because I want to read about my pretty Obi & Qui! *sobs* But the other night I made it through the entire Basic Tae Bo workout without pausing once or skipping any of the sets so THAT made me very proud and happy indeed.

I bought The Dead Zone season 1 on DVD on Wednesday on the way home from IKEA. It was on sale for $18 and I've been wanting it for a LONG time. The commentary rocks, and it was worth it just to hear them talk about Jim being in Highlander *G* Coincidentally, the episode of The Dead Zone with Peter Wingfield is airing on my birthday. So that's happy-making! :-) But, yeah, I'm glad I got it on DVD. Love this show. And now that I'm on dial-up it takes SO long to get through the website and see all the interviews and extras, so it's worth it to have those on DVD now, too.

Went to the library today to return two books that were due yesterday (DOH!) and bought 4 used books while there. One's a "Nora Roberts" fantasy novel that should be fun- LOL. The other three I intend to 'bookcross' with and release into the wild somewhere. I said I'd do that more as one of my New Year's resolutions and I haven't been. So now I am. Two are Michael Crichton books and the other is a copy of Fellowship that is JUST like my copy only it's green instead of black and looks like it's been read a WHOLE lot less than my copy. I'd keep it instead if it worked color-wise with the rest of my set. But, alas, it does not. So some lucky someone's going to get it instead. I'm going to go print Bookcrossing labels now. Happy happy! :-)

Have to go feed & walk neighbor's dog today at 5. I've had the house to myself all day (and, sadly, have not used that to my advantage, LOL) as parents and sister went to go visit a college that sister might go to. So I have two dogs to look after this afternoon instead of just my parents'. Should make for an interesting walk! But walking is good... walking=healthy=losing weight=tg gets to read about sexy padawan & master. Squee!

Oh, and speaking of squee, I keep dying every time the Kingdom of Heaven trailer comes on TV. I get excited when I see the SWIII and Hitchhiker's Guide ones as well, of course. But oohhhhhh I'm excited about Kingdom of Heaven! I'm so there opening day *G*

Fic progress:
  • I wrote a short Sweetie/Jamie fic yesterday and am finishing it up today. It's in my Strokes series directly following 'On Ice' which is currently very unfinished (barely started). This one's called 'Survey' though. I so suckith at titles! LOL
  • I've been working a bit more on a gift fic for circe that I *promise* I will finish! Sorry it's taken me as long as it has!
  • Picked up 'LotRLegGim14.doc' yesterday and finished it. It's a very, very short non-sneezing PWP piece. Started it half a year ago but finished it yesterday. So that was good.
  • Started a fic for weekly hatching number... um... I don't know. The recent one about Gimli getting sick and Legolas not knowing how to take care of him. It's only a couple pages along, but it's cute so far, I think. I'm having fun with it :-)
  • Wrote a little more in my R/S bodyswap fic. It's going to be a multi-parter I think, though the first part won't have any sneezing in it
  • My Haldir & young Legolas fic is at a hault as well. Just the will of my muses.
