Long Day

It's been a long day. Started work an hour or two earlier than usual and instead of putting in just the half day I expected, it became a full day. Got home just in time for a 20 minute nap and then to see my sister off to her prom. Which no one bothered to tell me was today. LOL She looked BEAUTIFUL and her boyfriend was very handsome as well. Apparently her whole day was one crisis after another, with stupid problems and a late-in-the-day hair appointment. So she only had about 10 minutes to get in and out the door. But I still managed to take a couple pics of her- even though she turned me down rudely every time I asked, her boyfriend's family came and took pictures which gave me the opportunity to do the same. *G*

So then we had to handle a baby bird situation. It wasn't a fuzzy/bald baby but a tiny little fledgling (sp?) that was unable to fly and hopping around the middle of the street. A neighbor rescued it and we put it in a box and kept it in the bathroom while trying to get ahold of the bird rescue place. Two hours later, we were told just to find a good spot and release it- apparently spring/early summer is a busy time for them and they were full to capacity. But it was nice of them to call us back. So we found somewhere and released it and we HOPE it calls its parents (there are no nests nearby) and doesn't get eaten by the cats who live just across the street. *crosses fingers*

Then I had a nice long walk with Mother and the dog, then we went to Giant and bought food. With the exception of a little bit of hurting earlier, my stomach's been good. But I've had a heat patch on my back all evening- it hurts muchly. Possibly all the sitting and the incredible lack of sleep. Had soup for dinner while watching an Angel episode (after the bird and before the dog walk) but had a second dinner while watching 'Youngbloods' which was a HORRIBLE movie but CUTE!

Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, and Keanu Reeves as hockey players? THUNK! It had every cliche in the book including my absolute favorite: a sports training montage to 80's music. *G* Terrible movie. Mother and I were calling lines out (just like for Lost) and being pretty damn accurate (ex: I got points for the stick-up-the-ass comment and Mom got points for the 'I didn't encourage you to play before because I didn't want you to get hurt like your brother' line) But they were all so young! And Patrick all bandaged and hurt. And some nummy boy-bonding and hugging moments.

Yeah, I totally have to pick my Strokes series up again. *is madly in love with Jamie*

I'm working again tomorrow. Early again. I've decided to redo the main structure of the website because it suckith much, so that's been fun working on. But it looks loads better now and I'll probably get it done by tomorrow, hopefully. But at least it's something to work on while Boss spends AGES collecting his thoughts on this term paper he's dictating to me. It's going to be a long weekend (probably working straight through it)

But my dad gets home from Tanzania on Sunday (nice timing) and my sister's graduation is Tuesday. So I've got to find time tomorrow to do some shopping.

Today I worked a tiny bit on a Xander/Spike fic (reading over it, trying to figure out why it sucks so much and what to do about that) and wrote a page or so in that Obi sneezefic I started a day or two ago.
