I'm going to go pick up my reserved copy of HP6 tonight at midnight. I'm quite excited. I'm going to wear my Hufflepuff shirt for sure, but I'm debating my scarf. Not sure I can work up to going *that* far out :-)

Anyway, I'll be avoiding LJ's and HP mailing lists until I finish reading it- which I've devoted the entire weekend to- to avoid being spoiled. And I just wanted to remind everyone to please don't post any spoilers to my journal. Seriously, I feel guilty enough about last time. Spoiler space is a fantastic invention, but it might be better to just hold off on spoilers all together for a while as well. We don't want everyone finding out before they read the book that the Giant Squid is the Half-Blood Prince, do we?

Hope everyone enjoys their local festivities and the book- whenever you get a chance to read it!

I'm so very disappointed that this is my weekend to work. I have a Hermione costume, and I've been looking for another excuse to wear it since Halloween. Plus, I haven't been to a HP book party since the night 'Goblet of Fire' came out. Alas, I have to work from 4pm to 2am...and I don't think they'd take it too well if I wore wizarding robes and a Gryffindor scarf to the pharmacy, nor would they like it if I ducked out at midnight. *G*

I'll be picking the book up from some random store in the next week or so, and I'm really not looking forward to being so behind in spoilers and discussion and stuff. I really don't have time to let myself get sucked into reading it until next Wednesday :( So have fun for me and enjoy the party and the weekend read!!

Luckily, I'm not as far behind as I'd feared I would be. I picked up a copy without a problem after I got off work at 2am the night it came out and stayed up until 7am reading it. It is a very, very fast read, I definitely agree with you about that. I didn't have quite as much energy to devote to it last night, but I'm still slightly more than halfway done now. I look forward to discussing stuff with you once I'm done!

I have yet to venture out and pick up my reserved copy, but I will say this: The world of HP NEEDS more Giant Squid. I'd be a happy grrl, indeed, if Rowling went back and rewrote everything from the point of view of The Giant Squid. My prediction for the end of the series is that we will find out that everything that went on was just a fantastic dream by TGS, who lives at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD.

Just saying...

Ours came from Amazon today while I was at work, but(pout) my husband is reading it right now! Whine!!!!!! I'm hoping he'll fall asleep before me and I can scoop it from him but I probably won't get to start until until Monday since I'm working 12+ hours again tomorrow.

Happy reading!

Tina
