Fun and Challenge anticipation
Jul. 30th, 2005 02:22 amAnother week gone by. Had a bad day yesterday, but today was pretty good, even if it involved me trying to figure out how to fit my heavy fridge into my tiny car alone.
We took the gates down and Sugar (White Kitty) has been slowly, hesitantly exploring the downstairs. The other cats mostly just watch her and there's a lot of staring going on among them in general, and a tiny bit of hissing. But they all seem okay so far. She's gone up and down the basement stairs but doesn't actually come up onto the second floor yet. It's lots of fun watching the dynamics.
My boss is going out of town next week which means short work days for me and lots of sleeping in until noon. Yay! I also managed to watch Buffy during work today and yesterday from 1-3pm. Had a grinny Spike-loving moment today and both Boss and his son gave me a strange look and an "okaaaaaay..." when I explained Spike was on screen and I love Spike muchly. I promise I didn't squee, but I would have. It was a Xander & Spike scene and ooohhh! LOVED it! Plus I got, like, MAD amounts of work done today at work. So I'm proud of myself. See what a little fandom love can do in the middle of a work day? LOL
So I decided I'm going to create another sneezefic challenge. It's a huge, ongoing sort of thing but I think it would be loads of fun to see entries for... I'm just hoping now's an okay time for me to propose it. Because I've been working on it all afternoon and I'm too excited to wait weeks or months. LOL *giddy bounces* I'm so excited.
On an equally exciting note... I splurged the other day and bought extra icon space. Gah. I know. Bad TG! But I've been wanting to for some time and I just couldn't resist the impulse yesterday.
Anyway... yeah... I'm excited and nervous about proposing the challenge thing. God, I hope people like the idea and go for it. Because otherwise I'll be writing hundreds of stories myself. Which... well, I do that anyway, so that's not too bad, is it? LOL!

Date: 2005-07-30 06:47 am (UTC)And as for another challenge, I have been so unmotivated lately that I would welcome something that was, well, challenging with deadlines and guidelines and the like to motivate me to actually get to writing again. So, I say go for it! I would participate!

Date: 2005-07-30 07:13 am (UTC)The new cat and our dog haven't really interacted yet- right now we're just trying to get her situated with the existing 4 cats. The dog is confined to a tiny portion of the house while the cats go all over, so that's the main concern. They're all worried their rank/order is going to change significantly now that there's a new cat, let alone a second female cat. Weird dynamics. But they're all taking it slowly. After all the times we've been through this with the arrival of new animals, we're used to this taking time :-)
As for the challenge- YAY!!!!! Oohhh! I'd be so excited to have you participate! The deadline's kind of flexible-ish but the rest... yay! I hope it gives your muses a little kick towards inspiration and motivation, even if you end up not writing anything for the project.
Thank you for the beta, BTW. I haven't touched the story in days, thanks to the extended deadline, but I plan to tackle it this weekend. Your comments were MOST helpful! *HUGS*

Date: 2005-07-30 07:07 am (UTC)But I'm glad you knew what I meant about the giddy squee-able moment there *G*
As for the challenge... I came up with the concept last night around 3am and only decided to go and do it this afternoon. Totally an impulse sort of thing. Which is funny and weird, but I figure if it fails miserably it's not like I put too much time into it, right? LOL!
But I'm THRILLED you're thinking about possibly writing something(either for the challenge or just in general) this summer! YAY!!!!!! I eagerly await your brilliance :-)
