I know I'm in the minority, but I want a president who is SMARTER than me, and who can SPEAK properly and professionally, not like some common guy off the street. And, preferably, someone who doesn't insult foreign dignitaries.

Hmm, I read part of a book today that said that it was all a persona. Apparently Bush Snr lost because the public found him impossible to connect with because he was too rich and upper class, so with Bush Jnr they tried to construct a more personable image - someone who didn't always speak correctly but who always meant what he said, someone who was really one of the Southern boys. The title of the book was "Fraud!" so we can see what the author thinks of that lol.

Um. I wonder if it's possible that Bush isn't really as dumb as he looks - that he just pretends to be that dumb because it seems a lot of voters connect with dumb people. Maybe they equate dumb with honest. Maybe his stupidity is a better reason for his actions than sheer vindictiveness. Or maybe it's just the people behind him who are pulling the strings. But he can't *really* be that dumb, can he?! (I'm hoping the answer's "no", but that might be even more disturbing, I think...)
