My sister's home this weekend which means she's on the internet/phone CONSTANTLY! (She's used to ethernet at college and doesn't seem to have any desire to help the rest of us out by being respectful and using the home dial-up network responsibly). So LJ comments and the feedback I really need to give will have to wait.
BUT the big news around my house is: my parents just bought a house! It's out first new house in about 20 years. I'll be sad to leave this one, since I grew up here. But after college it really doesn't feel like mine any more anyway. And now I'll get to be that geeky loser who lives in her parents' basement and pays rent. LOL So that'll be fun. *rolls eyes* But they bought a house! It's a nice one. And they just closed the deal officially tonight. It's exciting. And sad. But exciting. And a big event. So yay. I guess. I'll still really miss this place.

Date: 2005-11-08 01:32 am (UTC)Yeah. I moved after almost every year in college... actually more. *thinks*
Home-> Dorm room for a year-> Home-> Dorm room for a year-> Home-> Dorm room for a summer-> Dorm room for a year-> Apartment-> Apartment-> Home
BLEH! I really detest moving. It makes my family fall apart. We never fight so much as when we're moving furniture. :-(
My latest apartment is starting to feel like home, after a year and a half, so part of me is getting antsy to move on, or at least starting to dread the next (inevitable) pack-up-and-go.
I definitely know that feeling. I'm sure it will be nice when you find somewhere you can stay for a long while :-)
I hope your basement apartment will be roomy, sunny, and just private enough to feel like a home of your own.
I'll have one window in the form of a large glass door walk-out to the backyard. So I'll have to buy proper curtains and hope the cats don't climb them. But it'll be nice, and very private (except on laundry days) and I'll have my own bathroom so that's great. More importantly, my sister will have her own bathroom as well and she'll be several floors away from me so I won't have to listen to her music pounding away, so that ROCKS ;-)
