I went to the library and bought more books yesterday. ANd then today my mother was going so I tagged along and they had a "1 Bag for $5" sale. So I got even MORE books. I don't know where I'm going to PUT them all, but I'll figure something out!

So yesterday I bought:
  • Insomnia- Stephen King (I've never read it but why not? My mother borrowed it from me last night to read, LOL)
  • Salem's Lot- Stephen King (I taped the mini series but haven't watched it yet. I think I'll read the book first)
  • The Shining- Stephen King (I've seen both movie versions but have never read the book)
  • Angela's Ashes- Frank McCourt (Audio tapes! I bought this book for my Irish Literature class but have never read it as we didn't get to it in class, and it's read by the author so that rocks)
  • Sphere- Michael Crichton (Audio tapes! This is my favorite Crichton book and it's read by Ed Asner! Awesome!)
  • 9 Steps to Financial Freedom- Suze Orman (Audio tapes! I saw and couldn't resist. I really love her advice and have always wanted to buy one of her books)
  • 2 hardcover gift books which I can't mention here because someone who's getting them reads this journal sometimes

And today I bought (remember, big bag sale):
  • The Star Trek: TNG Companion (I own the ST Encyclopedia which was put out when DS9 was still in progress, so I already have all this info, but it's so big and is just this series so I couldn't resist)
  • The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook (I love reading this book in bookstores, so it's about time I had a copy! I almost bought it yesterday but today it was still around so I snatched it up and put it in the bag)
  • Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood- Rebecca Wells (I intend to read and then give as a gift to a fellow bookcrosser)
  • The Valley of Horses- Jean M. Auel (Mom bought me Clan of the Cave Bear but I still haven't gotten around to reading it, but when I do, I'll have the whole series here)
  • The Mammoth Hunters- Jean M. Auel (See note above)
  • The Plains of Passage- Jean M. Auel (See note above)
  • Irish Magic- lots of authors (I don't know. Silly romance/adventure book. Maybe it'll suck or maybe it'll rock. I can always Bookcross or give it back to the library if it's too painful to read, but it looks interesting)
  • Letters from the Earth- Mark Twain (I've read most of this, but don't have my own copy. So yay!)
  • Seashells of North America- a Golden book (My CA grandparents had this book and my relatives are sending it around in a box that goes from home to home every year, but I saw it and wanted a copy of my own. And it's in FABULOUS condition)
  • Lives of the Artists- Kathleen Krull (Audio Book! I have NO idea what this is about, but my secret santa person in Bookcrossing is an Art & Lit major so I'm hoping she'll enjoy this)
  • John Muir's Wild America- Tom Melham & Farrell Grehan (I admired this hardback yesterday but didn't get it. So today I decided to ass it to the bag. I love John Muir's writings and life story, and I've visited Muir Woods in CA. And this is a beautiful book about him and about nature. I couldn't resist)
  • The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom- Suze Orman (Hardcover, so go along with the audio book, LOL)
  • 2 books my mother wanted about Kitchen design and renovation

So I bought 3 or 4 books and 1 book on tape as Christmas gifts.

And between yesterday and today for Bookcrossing only I got:
  • IT- Stephen King (I LOVE this book!)
  • Dragonfly in Amber- Diana Gabaldon (My faaaavorite book in the series)
  • Voyager- Diana Gabaldon (I'm thinking of releasing this when I go on my next trip! LOL)
  • A Perfectly Irregular Christmas Tree- Abbia Zabar (This is a beautiful little hardback. I'm going to release it on Christmas or give it as a gift to a fellow Bookcrosser)

I seriously have NO place to put any of these. LOL And I got into a conversation with the two guys at the check out yesterday about football, and one of them was there again today *blushes* and he RECOGNIZED me and we talked about how sucky the games were yesterday. LOL It's sad when you're recognized for buying so much at a library sale. But there were people who bought $30 worth of books in one day so, whoa, I'm not that bad! I spent:
Day 1- $13
Day 2- $10
Day 3- $5
And got 45 books (6 of them being audio books). That's not bad at all! Squeee! Of course there are two books I probably should have bought today that now I kind of regret passing up. But I'm more than happy with the ones I got. *looks over large stacks* *sigh* Happy indeed. Where's that Remus bookstore owner fic I started a month ago...
