So, I'm curious, how much national attention is this Cell Phone Bandit thing getting? Because I see her mentioned occasionally on the national news but it's HUGE here on local news since its happening in my town. I find it very amusing that she's able to pull that off. I can't talk on a cell phone normally, let alone while robbing a bank!

Anyway, yeah, I just found out she was caught this morning. Which is good.

One of the banks she robbed was MY bank! The Wachovia branch I used to go to every few weeks before I started to hit the one slightly closer to where I work now. But, yeah, SPOOKY! Grrr! It's been hit a few times before... I don't think I'll be going there any more. And it's not even the seedy part of town!

But even MORE spooky (spookier?) is the fact that the cell phone bandit chica is a member of the fitness club right across from where I work and my boss' son KNOWS her and has worked out with her!!! He says she's tremendously dumb and ditzy. *shrug* Hey, she got away with it a number of times, and she made the news.

Anyway... small town. Small world. Yadda yadda yadda. I just wanted to share in case anyone else was following the story and wanted a laugh :-)

I think I saw it mentioned on the news headlines once or twice here. I haven't been watching the news that much. That is very spooky about your bank and the health club. It's kind of a freaky thing to have that "almost" association.

When I was a fairly new nurse working at the hospital years ago I had a pt I had been taking care of off and on for a few months. The day he dies a young woman(his son's ex girlfriend and the mother of my patient's grandchild) was visiting with her new boyfrined. I spent some time talking to her because she really wasn't coping well and i thought she was his daughter.

Turns out that that night her new boyfriend murdered her. It was very creepy, I had been there with both of them a few hours before.

Sorry to ramble on, totally off topic. You're story just reminded me of that whole story I hadn't thought about in years.

I've heard it mentioned on the local news here, too. I think it was one of the last segments news programs show, one of those "Oddly Enough" or strange happenings type clips. It has also been spoofed/talked about on the late night circuit as well. I don't know if the update was mentioned on the news tonight as I just got up from a nap and have yet to turn the TV on.

I know that one of my local news shows said they were going to have a segment on that cold nose study you posted, though. Have to watch out for that if they haven't already shown it. With my luck I'm probably going to turn it on during the sports.

That's scary that she hit your old bank while also hitting the gym so close to your work. I guess she can't do either now.
