1. On what day do you celebrate Thanksgiving?
The fourth Thursday in November
2. How do you traditionally celebrate this food filled holiday?
I usually sleep in, set the table, and then try not to kill the rest of my family. This is possibly my least favorite holiday. I'm not terribly food-oriented and Thanksgiving day food has never been my favorite. For most of my childhood I was sick around Thanksgiving every year, so really there's not a lot of happy associated with it. I used to like watching the parade but now I sleep so late I miss it. So, yeah, Thanksgiving is usually a day where my mother spends the whole time cooking, my dad tries to help and washes the dishes wrong, where we all end up yelling at each other about something, and then try to sit down and eat and talk to each other like civilized people as though nothing had happened all day.
As far as food goes... we have: turkey(I don't eat it), stuffing(I don't eat it), gravy(I don't eat it), sweet potatoes(I'll eat a little, but they're not my favorite- my mother tried a new recipe this year that made them taste a LOT better), mashed potatoes, green beens, rolls, fruit salad, and cranberries (I'll eat whole ones-yum- but I prefer the jelly stuff that comes out in the shape of the can- YUM!).
3. How do you like your stuffing cooked (in the bird, separately in a dish, store bought, etc.)?
I hate stuffing. I don't eat it at all.
4. What is your favorite dessert to eat on Thanksgiving and who makes it?
Mom usually makes 2 pies- one pumpkin and one either apple or cherry. And then she makes cups of pumpkin piefilling for herself since she can't eat wheat/pie crust. This year (and usually every year) it's apple. I LOVE pie. Apart from pies with meat in them, pies are my FAVORITE foods. So, yeah, that's it. Pie. Any kind of pie. Love it. With coolwhip straight from the freezer.
5. Can you name five things you are thankful for?
Yes. I can.
Oh! You actually want me to LIST them? LOL Should have rephrased the question, then ;-) Here we go:
-having a place to live- because I've lived outside in a cardboard box and it was NOT fun
-having a job that might actually be both fun and more rewarding in the new year
-the presence of a wealth of fandoms that give me constant entertainment and inspiration and emotional stimulation
-my muses and an ability to write
-having a chance to turn things around in my life
