I went to Walmart today to buy new gloves (mine have holes in the fingers- NOT useful!) and address labels... and (I blame it on the depression of not finding ANY black gloves) I accidentally went by the 2 for $11 bin of DVD's. And whenever I pass, I have to look. And I came out with 3 DVDs. I bought one as a present to my family (which is really just me justifying buying the movie, because I want to listen to the commentary) and I bought two for myself... Interview with the Vampire and Batman: the animated series- Secrets of the Caped Crusader. Because 'Heart of Ice' is one of the episodes and guuuhhhh sneezing Batman gets me every time, even animated :-) (And even waiting in line to purchase the movie, thinking about it... gods I'm HOPELESS! LMAO Silly fetish!) Plus I kind of want to hear the commentary, too. I love Batman *snuggles*
Can you tell my last paycheck hit my bank account this morning? LOL
But I also went by the post office and the storage unit office (and paid my monthly bill 11 days early, thank you very much) and CVS and Blockbuster (I got The Brothers Grimm out- can't wait!!!) on the way home. And did it all in 2 hours. Not too bad.
There's a two-part NCIS on tonight I think I'll watch. That's my favorite "I adore this show but somehow never manage to watch it when it's on and I don't bother to tape it" show.
On a completely different note... I SERIOUSLY don't think I'm going to get all the gift fics that people wanted on Christmas done by then. I'm going to work my ass off and try... but I'm not sure I can do it. I've got SIX stories still all "due" on Christmas. That's more than one a day. I just don't think that's going to happen, realistically. *worries*

As for your fic... I actually finished it over a week ago. So it's too late. I'm not about to un-write it now. heehee
I'm looking forward to the Brothers Grimm! It looks exactly like something I'd like (despite the reviews). But I definitely appreciate the endorsement from you! Thanks! *bounces with anticipation*

Date: 2005-12-24 05:44 am (UTC)Sounds like this episode is just DOOMED when it comes to taping! I taped it when I was a kid, too, only the tape was cued up at the end and I ran out of tape just at the part where Batman's watching the videotape of Freeze's wife being unplugged. So I scrambled and I popped in a new tape and hit record just as that scene was ending. So I've got the episode on two different tapes and missing a little in the middle *facepalm*
Thus, it's nice to have it on DVD now all in one piece :-)

Date: 2005-12-22 10:13 pm (UTC)If you are getting stuck with mine- it is Absolutely no worries to put it on a back burner. Or if not started and stuck on inspiration, if you get additional Hornblower inspiration of the sneezy variety (with Horatio or Archie or both) that could work.
Just reading all these wonderful stories is a treat. Trying to be as helpful as possible.
I hope that your Yule was wonderful!

Date: 2005-12-22 11:49 pm (UTC)I liked the movie, but didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. There were some elements that I LOVED (like a certain actor from a Highlander episode who gets beheaded in this movie as well- that amused me GREATLY!) and the characters were wonderful and the costumes and settings were to die for. But I thought the storytelling was REALLY lacking. To me, it jumped around far too much and plot points came out of nowhere. Maybe that's just because I was trying to write at the same time... but parts of it were really weird to me. It's definitely worth a rent to make one's own mind up about it, though :-)

Oh you temptress! I JUST put in HH Volume II (opening credits are still rolling) Honestly, I'm not sure I'm comfy enough to write in the fandom yet, though. I've been feeling stuck with yours (for reasons I previously mentioned- my knowing canon so well). But I started it late last night and it's a little over a page long now. I'm just not sure about what more I can do to it, you know? How long can I possibly drag out Buttercup's inner conflict and Wesley's torment? Hmmm. (If you've any suggestions to that end, I would gladly entertain them!) But I'm still willing to give the fic a good shot. The beginning of the fic is not bad, after all.
But I really do appreciate you not minding if I set it aside. I've got 3 in-progress stories open right now and I keep jumping around from one to the other. So now it's all up to the muses! But I truly appreciate the assurance that you won't hunt me down and murder me in cold blood if I'm a few days late with yours. *HUGS*

Date: 2005-12-24 04:22 pm (UTC)Didn't know if you had started the one for me or not. *squeees a happy squee that it is in the works* I was thinking maybe a situation would be Buttercup offering Some type of comfort, but not gushy (don't want "inferiors" to get the wrong idea). Then possbily ending with her saying softly (when she thinks that he's asleep) something like "Take care. Sleep well. Feel better." (something in that vein) and then walking away. And the parting shot is a sleepy, comfy Wesley murmuring "As you wish"
Just a thought or two.
And no there will definately won't be tracking down and murdering if it's not done "on time". "belated" gifts are a wonderful holiday extention.
