Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!! Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God!!!!!

Thank you so so so so soooooo much!!!! You're a marvel. As if the stupendous amount of Very Exciting Fics To Be Read wasn't enough (haven't had time to read any others yet but I'm so excited!), there is one there specially for me!!!!! (I practically cried). I really didn't excpect this, with you having so many requests and me having given you a possible later date, it was the best Christmas surprise ever!!!!!! (oh dear, feel I may be overusing the exclamation marks but I can't help it!!!)

I love it. I love love love it. I never would have thought of that particular way of getting two snuggle jedi Very Wet Indeed (which is odd as they have a swimming escape in the Phantom Menace, but it never occurred to me) but oh what a lovely image it is. And your writing is so beautiful (have I said that before? probably, but I'll say it again. It's beautiful), it paints the scene so clearly. At "soaking wet hit freezing cold" my heart melted for them both!

There’s a Qui line at the beginning I blatantly stole from Batman: Begins because I love Liam saying it *G* Ah, that would be " “Rub your chest to get warm,” Qui-Gon said, hugging his arms around his chest. “Your arms will take care of themselves.”" Ooohhhh yes, so do I!!!! Definitely a line to be treasured. And it fits very well with Qui-Gon...In fact, I kept forgetting that Liam wasn't actually playing Qui-Gon Jinn at the start of that movie, and kept nearly dying of shock when he did violent un-Jedi-like things! (and at " “She says that we are in their forest,” Qui-Gon explained, rubbing his arms to warm himself. He was shivering still" I thought, silly Qui-Gon! He doesn't follow his own very good advice! But I can see him doing just that..)

As usual, their characters are perfect. Qui-Gon being the ever-perfect diplomat and being so responsible despite his sniffles, and Obi-Wan so caring and dutifully following but not so far as to let his master sacrifice himself! It seems a little different from your usual writing style -more high action than normal!- but you pull it off very well, -I particularly like "Footsteps. Coming quickly. In their direction. Nearly upon them" - and it moves along fast and exciting.

I melted many times at poor freezing sick Jedi! "Qui-Gon shivered so violently afterwards that Obi-Wan simply had to wrap his arms around his master again.  “We need to get you warm. And dry. Or your cold will get worse.” and "As Obi-Wan pulled away from Qui-Gon, they both shivered violently. Obi-Wan felt the desire to go back to him, hugging him to try to warm up again. But if he could not warm up his master, the least he could do was help keep him safe. “That way?” Obi-Wan asked, gesturing towards one spot between trees" both had me weak at the knees..

And the structure and time changing worked very well. I think "“Yes, I believe so.” Qui-Gon groaned again and looked up towards the sky. “Tala is going to kill me!”" was my favourite moment in the fic, and I simply loved the section that followed. It doens't end too abruptly, but it does leave room for imagination..which is good! I have so clearly in my mind the moment when they get home and Tala scolds Qui-Gon soundly as he tenderly tucks him into bed (not to mention when they get on the ship and to get Qui-Gon warm as quickly as possible they decide that he and Obi-Wan must snuggle very close together...hopefully at least partially unclothed...*blushes*..)

And so, again, thank you thank you thank you!! I really love it to bits! And appreciate so much the time that you put into it.

Now, I did also want to report back on where I'm at with Highlander. I had every intention of writing you a Christmas Highlander fic, and I still have every intention of finishing it (Duncan/Methos...you have impeccable taste!). I'm so so sorry it didn't get done in time. It's started, but the trouble is it's stalled due to a complete lack of Methos. I live in a country that never got past season two, either on tv or on video/dvd, and I would be tragically ignorant of Methos' existence (a deprived existence!) if it weren't for a friend sending me tapes of season four long ago. But I lent them to a friend two years ago...and have had no Methos since! (I got out Endgame again and the two or so seconds of him in that got me started, but I just feel I need to see him a bit more to be sure of his character. It's all ready in my head to be written, I just need that little refreshment of the way he talks and things). Anyway, I've spoken to my friend and should be getting the tapes back in late January, and so will finish it then...a Christmas present a whole month after Christmas! Sorry about giving you so long to wait..
