So just random news about me...
My aunt's dog died this past weekend. We're all very sad around here. The dog was never sick a day in its life and then started having trouble breathing and standing and eating, only to find out he had cancer and a few weeks to live. He was good for about a week and then got bad and had to be put down. Poor Rocky baby. I got to spend some time with him on the trip out to Cali last year, luckily. But we're all sad and my aunt & family especially.
I start my new job Monday, with an orientation on Tuesday. I've got a probationary period and I'm very nervous, but I'm happy, as well. I really hope I like it and do well.
My parents are closing on the sale of the old house tomorrow. I visited it yesterday and took a few pictures of empty rooms and said my goodbyes. Lived there for 20 years. I'm sad but it hasn't really hit me yet, you know? That my house isn't... my house any more. Even though we haven't lived there for months... we've been going over every day... it's so strange... and sad. So many memories- good and bad. It was sad to say goodbye.
Accordingly, the movers came yesterday while I was at work and moved a few large pieces of furniture to the new house (sofa, huge china cabinet, bookcases, treadmill, pingpong table). One of the pieces was actually a giant TV cabinet from the old basement that is now going in the new basement- my room. So I'll have my own big (not 11 inch) television set and entertainment hutch (not the $20 rubbermaid shelves bowing in the middle under the weight that I'm using now). It's, unfortunately, sitting in the center of my room right now blocking my view of the current tv. But hopefully this weekend I'll get it all sorted out.
I finished GWT's holiday giftfic last night. And I'm making SLOW but steady progress with Legolas093096's LOST giftfic. With any luck, I will be able to post them all for a 6-month-late Christmas on Sunday :-)

Date: 2006-06-24 11:22 am (UTC)It was really strange when my parents sold MY house. I had moved out a few years before but it was still home for me.
