I just felt like making a list of lists... feel free to ignore or comment if you're so inspired :-)

Shows I will NOT watch:
+Laguna Beach
+House MD
+Grey's Anatomy
+Nip/Tuck
+Rescue Me
I've watched pretty much everything... maybe 95% of shows. I like to give a show a chance and watch an episode of it. If I like it, I try to watch more or I add it to my "must see every episode" list. if I don't like it (like Ally McBeal), I avoid it and don't look back. So obviously these are not complete, comprehensive lists. But they're not too bad. If something's not listed, it probably means I don't feel strongly about it either way (like Saved... or Hope & Faith)

Date: 2006-08-20 11:03 pm (UTC)Me, I can't even name 5 shows that I watch regularly nowdays, much less never miss an episode of. In fact, I don't think there's a single show on now that I never miss. I Tivo SG-1 and LOST, and Colbert Report and Daily Show, but I've missed multiple episodes of all of those without too much remorse. I can always catch them later. Though it sucks being 9 episodes behind on LOST and trying to avoid spoilers until the DVD set for season 2 comes out!

It's just habit, a routine. I've been taping and watching shows since middle school. I couldn't even tell you how many hundreds (probably thousands) of video tapes I have *facepalm* But really it's just about 4 hours a day on average and I never just sit and watch TV. It's on while I'm doing other things. But I'm a story and character junkie. And I love reality shows because they help me see how different types of people think and behave, which is useful when writing.

You have a life. No shame in that!! ;-)
I do like to watch every episode of shows, in order. I used to be more lax about that, but after a while I got pretty anal about that.
And with all I watch, you can probably see why I get behind with some shows. When I have 3 shows on at the same time AND hockey as well, it takes a lot of coordination and taping on multiple tvs... wish I had TiVo like you!
Though it sucks being 9 episodes behind on LOST and trying to avoid spoilers until the DVD set for season 2 comes out!
Yep. I tried to get caught up with the Stargates by taping when last season started, but it was hard since Numb3rs and Monk were also on Friday night and it's harder for me to keep track of the order and everything if I can't watch them as I go along. Ah well. Thank goodness for DVDs!

Date: 2006-08-29 04:08 pm (UTC)I think I just spend the same amount of time online searching for and reading fanfic as you do watching tv. I end up reading the same fics over and over, many of them happily. *G*

Date: 2006-08-21 05:18 pm (UTC)I've seen a couple episodes of How I Met Your Mother. It was pretty funny, but I couldn't stand Barney. I've seen some Judging Amy too, when the reruns are on TNT and I don't have school or work. It's really good. I love Vincent, he's such a good character. ER I gave up a few seasons ago. My last season was maybe Neela's first season. And I am amazed you can still watch the OC. I used to love it. It was one of my favorite shows, and I own the first 2 season dvds, but I stopped watching it in the middle of the 3rd season. But I did watch the last couple minutes of the season 3 finale to see who died.
I used to watch Smallvill reruns on ABC family, but it doesn't show reruns anymore, so I have no idea where they're at now. But if you have any desire to watch it, this is the season to start. The second episode is titled "Sneeze".
The shows I always watch faithfully are LOST, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, and House MD. And Reba when it's on.

Date: 2006-08-29 12:43 am (UTC)Yeah. I don't like him as a character and the subject matter... I love ER, but I can't watch House and don't want to. Even though I think RSL is on it and I'd watch him in almost anything.
I've seen a couple episodes of How I Met Your Mother. It was pretty funny, but I couldn't stand Barney.
OMG I love Barney because he's so true to himself and fun to laugh at :-) I love them all and I think the writing is clever. I seriously describe the show as "amost as good as Seinfeld". The New Year's episode is hands down one of the funniest things I've seen ever.
I've seen some Judging Amy too, when the reruns are on TNT and I don't have school or work. It's really good. I love Vincent, he's such a good character.
Vincent is the BEST! I love Kyle, too. I love all the characters (though sometimes I get annoyed at Peter's wife) and I've seen every episode at least 5 times thanks to TNT repeats, some of them more than that.
ER I gave up a few seasons ago. My last season was maybe Neela's first season.
It's not as good as it used to be, but every so often it still has its moments. I just want to find out what happens to the characters.
And I am amazed you can still watch the OC. I used to love it. It was one of my favorite shows, and I own the first 2 season dvds, but I stopped watching it in the middle of the 3rd season. But I did watch the last couple minutes of the season 3 finale to see who died.
Again, I just want to find out what happens to the characters. I don't enjoy it the way I did season 1 and parts of 2. But I watch every single episode because I want to know what happens to them.

I don't come into a series in the middle, as a rule, tempting and lovely as that episode sounds! I'd prefer to start from the beginning so I can watch it properly. Thank goodness for DVDs!

Date: 2006-08-21 08:33 pm (UTC)Which of the L&O do you watch when you watch?? Crimminal Intent and the Orginal are in my top five favs- so I was curious.
Judging Amy, Joan, Dr. Quinn, Seinfield- love 'em all.
I *Finally* started to see some of the "Sex in the City" reruns and I'm starting to like those. I've even thought about renting the DVD's to be able to watch them in order. lol!
Regardless of your tv favs your writing is fantastic and I love it.

I dunno. Whatever the one on TNT is. I think they show the original. And sometimes whatever's on USA. Is that SVU? I've seen a lot of episodes of Special Victim's Unit (ack, when I write SVU I think 'Sweet Valley University' LOL) I don't watch them in order and don't watch them faithfully... but if it's on TNT and I'm at home, I watch it. And if it's on primetime and I'm not watching anything else, I'll watch it. I don't like any of the CSI's, but I enjoy Law & Order.
Judging Amy, Joan, Dr. Quinn, Seinfield- love 'em all.
Yayness! :-) Everyone always laughs when I say I loved Dr. Quinn. But I did, unashamedly. I loved how it dealt with soooooo many issues... but, then, it had such a long run that it's not surprising. I STILL cry when I think about Ingrid, though.

That's very cool. I've seen a dozen or so episodes, but I sort of want to see it from the beginning, too.
Regardless of your tv favs your writing is fantastic and I love it.
Thanks! :-) And, hey, yours is great, too!
