Noah's Arc
Aug. 26th, 2006 01:28 amSince I keep mentioning Noah's Arc... I thought I should mention that season 1 (short though it is) is available now on DVD.
Season 1 and Season 2 (so far) are both available on iTunes. I think season 1 is about $17.
Season 2 episodes are each $1.99. So if you're actually *dying* to watch the drama, that's an option.
In addition, Season 2 episode 1 is available for free online on LOGOonline along with interviews and deleted scenes and such (and omg dreamy Gregory working out!). So if you just want a taste, you can check those out here for free: http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/noahs_arc_2/videos.jhtml
And a nice video intro (first part of first episode) is here: http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/noahs_arc/series.jhtml
I have to warn you though, it's a heck of a lot of fun, and it's what you'd expect from a gay comedy/drama with a range of types of characters and social issues, but it's far from brilliant. It's just... adorable and fun and gay :-)
And if you're still reading this and interested to see the last episode... with nummy Wilson nearly naked and sneezing and random guy sneezing because of dust and the need for Ricky to angst about his boy's HIV status, that's Season 2 episode #3.
Anyway, people seemed bummed about not being able to see it so I thought I'd mention it's available on iTunes in all its glory.
Or, if you have LOGO, it's on again in 2 minutes *G*
Oh, and I happened to mention on a community how much I loved Junito and look what I got! *points to icon* How much do I ADORE sleeping men? *wibble*

I didn't like it. I thought I'd have a problem with the strong gay theme, but surprisingly that wasn't it. I don't like shows where it's all about hooking up.
LOL! That's, like, every show out there!
It's pretty heavy in Noah's Arc, to be sure, but I don't think the relationship themes/plots are any more prominant than in most shows (Sex & the City, Seinfeld, The OC, etc.). The boys do have lives outside of their romances like family and work and hobies (I love the fact that Noah and Wade are writers) but hooking up is indeed a major part of the show. But, hey, I like that about it. There are thousands of hookup shows with het characters; these boys deserve a little love as much as the next sitcom character! :-)
And I hated Noah's hair.
LMAO Noah's hair is like the weather in some places in the world- wait two minutes and it changes.
I've seen him in at least ten different hairstyles, some of which I really hated, too. But I like his character and that's just one strange, wild aspect :-)

Date: 2006-08-29 11:36 pm (UTC)And I do know other shows do this too. I watched the OC, remember? Sex and the City I have only seen once, and only part. Something about the Miranda fitting in her skinny pants and the 4 going to a club with beds. But Seinfeld? Seinfeld is not about hooking up. It's about nothing. It's a show about nothing, get it? (If I messed up the reference I'm sorry).
And you are so right, the boys do deserve a chance. I hope they have fun with that.
And Wade is the straight (in 1st ep) guy he writes with? I have to know, is that guy really straight, or is he gay?

Seinfeld is about nothing. But it's also about everything. And in practically every epiosde, the focus was on someone one of the characters was dating. I just picked a few shows as examples. Everything's about relationships nowadays.

I think there's much more drama than fun... these guys are the angstiest but happiest bunch of fellows I've ever seen. LOL

Do you mean the character or the actor?
The character tries to have a three-way (with Noah and Brandy, a woman who works for the studio who produced Wade's last script), insisting he's only into girls, but then ends up realizing he'd rather just be with Noah alone. He's a bit reluctant and scared at first (a whole episode about how he's scared to tell his sports buddies that he's more than friendly with Noah), but he definitely realizes he's gay (though Noah stays a little worried that Wade might be just experimenting). Wade's "with" Noah for the whole rest of season 1 and in season 2 he's with another guy.
As for the actor... I believe, officially, the only actors who have official come out are the ones who play Chance and (I think) Alex. And of course Wilson Cruz who joins the series at the end of season 1. It's sort of a joke that the rest of them keeping trying to out the others to the press "I'm not saying about myself but the other guys? Oh, they're all gay!" So I have no idea, really, about the actor who plays Wade.
