Holiday Giftfics & Halloween Ramblings

I'm doing NaNoWriMo this November, so I'm not going to have any time to write any giftfics during the month (unless, for some reason, I finish my 50,000 words early). So it's going to be a mad rush in December, I think. But I still intend to write giftfics this year. I just wanted to give a heads-up that they might all be difficult to complete in time, and might be a little shorter than usual. I shall nonetheless do my best.
So you've got a month to contemplate your heart's desire and decide how to propose it to me as a request.
And OMG I can't wait until NaNoWriMo but Halloween is killing me. I think I'm going to have to go to the Halloween party guys at work are throwing. Argh. I hate drinking and dancing. And I don't know what to be for Halloween... it's been so long. I'd do the vampire thing like I used to, but two girls are already doing that. Right now, I don't know what I'm doing. I'd like to do HP but some people at work have strong opinions about the books. So right now, my ideas are down to: Hockey player (which I think would look awful and kind of pieced together, but I have the pieces) or Witch (which would look much more attractive but I'll have to scramble to put together a costume- but it'd be kind of traditional for me). Argh. So much work for something I don't want to do. LOL Maybe I'll pick up a six pack of pumpkin ale to bring with and it'll be so bad it'll distract from the fact that I'm there. :-)

And don't worry about being limited. You write one of my favorite characters ever *huggles Remus* AND you ship dogstar- that's MORE than enough for me. I'm dead serious (pun intended) when I say there isn't enough puppyfic in this world... let alone h/c and/or sneezing puppyfic. I'll certainly think about what I'd like...

November preparation is out for me. And it takes more than a week or so to get the website and the challenges created. But if we start the challenge in December and go on a few months from there (ending in March?)I'd be able to do it, help out, archive, etc. I'll contact A and see if she's into doing it with me again this year. And, if not, I'll ask for help.
Either way, I DEFINITELY plan on proposing the challenge before the end of the year. Don't know about due dates or themes yet, but there WILL be a challenge. Yeppers!

Date: 2006-10-30 07:14 am (UTC)So, I've been a wee bit of a lurker. I've loved helping with the challenges so much, but this year, I just can't do it. There are so many things going on. I'm working with the music department and that's ridiculously time consuming, recognition fraternity, a ton of units, and no free weekends! I've taken on a lot. I'm passing this year only because I love the challenges and want to see someone who can make enough time to really make the challenge awesome. If you can't find anyone, let me know. I haven't checked the SFChallenge addy in so long so email me on my other one if you still have it. If not, just post and ask me to send it to you. Please don't think I'm bailing, I just wanna see someone really make time and put effort into this project. I hope it all works out, keep me posted! If no one can, I'll make time! :)
