Forgot to mention that one of the movie trailers before 'Identity' was for 'Pirates of the Carribean' YAY! Orlando and Johnny Depp together on the big screen for a few minutes! I practically have the entire trailer memorized, but twas still a thrill to see it *G* Boyfriend turned to me afterwards and said 'All right, I'll go take you to see it'. Maybe the slapping motions I made along with it was a little much, but I apparently achieved my desired result *VBG*

I watched 'The Bourne Identity' tonight. I'm very behind on movies, can you tell? I enjoyed it for a 'nice, in the background movie' sort of movie as I wrote my paper. It was good... but I like the John Doe TV series premise MUCH better even if it is similar. I liked it, despite my comparing to John Doe every ten minutes... not sure who makes a cuter memoryless, wet, foreign-speaking, naked man pulled out of the ocean, Dom or Matt. heehee Too similar was the beginning. But a nice movie.

I also watched 'One Hour Photo' on impulse this morning. I've been meaning to see it. WHOA. Now that was interesting. It's the sort of weird, twisted, demented movie I would write myself, so it really freaked me out at times. And Robin WIlliams was FANTASTIC!!! But yeah... wow... very frightening. But I really enjoyed it and am very glad I watched it. It's just... whoa...
Maybe not the same sort of 'Whoa' as I had after I watched 'Fight Club' or 'Memento' or something... but pretty close. I really, really enjoyed it. VERY beautiful. The sets were lovely- the art direction and lighting was fantastic. And the pacing was perfect. Usually I don't like slow movies (If I could have watched 'Meet Joe Black' on fast forward, even that would have been slow for me!) but this one was fantastic- really got the emotions perfect. And Robin's voice is so wonderful for a soothing, derranged narrator. Man. If I ever write anything so lovely as that, I wish someone like Robin Williams would star in it for me. That was... wow... I'm SO bloody impressed with the whole concept and the deep thoughts it envokes...

I was talking to my boyfriend last night about time. How I love movies and tv shows/episodes dealing with time. Time travel, changing time, glitches in time, flashbacks, etc. If I could be a superhero I would want my power to be controlling time. So the part of the movie about stopping time and preserving it... about controlling memories and selective memories and things really hit home. I have a HORRIBLE memory- I can't remember more than a few brief glimpses of events I know I experienced and it makes me SO sad... some of the best times in my life I can't really remember- aside from any pictures. I take lots of pictures- of normal things, of fun things, of friends, of trips, of events. So it's interesting to look back on them and think I remember them a little better... and what I've really done is captured time and am weilding it for my own uses. Fantastic. Man. Makes me want to buy my one hour photo developer flowers or something. (I always get my film developed through one hour CVS... I can't wait two days for my pics and it's only an extra dollar or two and the quality's usually very good)

Anyway, just thoughts. It's nearly 9am. I'm going to try to get a little sleep then work nonstop on my paper due tomorrow. The current Star Wars story I'm working on is VERY tempting, but I don't have time for it today *sad sigh* Ah well. Twill all be over in two days and then I can have a little free time again. G'night! :-)
