Oohhh. The BookCrossing store has a new label out. It's adorable with teeny tiny little genre Ballycumbers. *snuggles it* Maybe if I ever have money again, I'll buy some.
I'm going to give my parents a big present for Christmas- I'm paying them back for all the money they've lent me over the last few years. It's not quite everything I have in savings-- I'll have enough to pay bills in January, but only just. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they open up the envelope and see my cheque. But they were so great to pay for me when I needed them to- it's mostly dental bills and a few payments on my storage unit- and I can't imagine a better time to show them I'm so thankful.
So right now I'll be content with the DVD I got in the mail yesterday: The Ron Clark Story. Squee! I love this movie so much. Speaking of movies, I'm going to make a list of my favorite movies I saw this year. I've been thinking about it over the last few days.
We went out to a holiday lunch at work today. Had very yummy food. Boss ordered several bottles of wine (I don't drink), calimari (which I don't eat, as a vegetarian), a round of coffee after lunch, and ordered two whole orders of the dessert menu. Everyone took a bite of each and passed it around the tables. Mmm. Nummy sweets. Dessert is DEFINITELY how to win me over. I'm a sweets fanatic.
Always used to make me sad when boyfriend and I went out to dinner and he never, ever wanted to order dessert, even to share. Hmm. I should make a list of qualities I want in a guy, starting with that... heehee. I'm off to my list of lists!
Anyway, this is a pointless post. Just more of my rambling.

Date: 2006-12-14 03:01 am (UTC)Poor Ron, with the blanket and passing out in school. I wanted to feed him some soup. The only thing I found odd was he kept showing up at everyone's house. I know that was his charm, but today he'd be fired and arrested.
But still, very deserving of the squee icon.

Date: 2006-12-14 03:17 am (UTC)I just went upstairs for food and my mother said to me "Hey, that movie you like that you just bought on DVD is on again tonight on some channel". heehee
OY, Dios Mio! It was amazing.
LOL I totally agree. Of course, it's exactly the sort of movie I love to death, so I was predisposed to like it. But, still, I think it's a really great movie. I think it's so cool that the real Ron Clark and kids got to meet the actors while filming- I think that probably helped the actors out a lot, too.
And I love movies with the explanations at the end.
Me too, so long as they're based on real events explanations. I don't like them in completely fictional movies because I think it's just a cheap way of wrapping everything up (telling not showing).

I know!!! My nurturing instinct went way off the charts during those scenes.

I didn't think it odd, exactly because I was completely sucked in. And I don't know about arrested... well, that one time when he was looking after the chica's sibblings while she worked on her paper, yeah. That wouldn't end so well today. You're probably right about that.
All righty. I'm off to try to finally watch Junebug!
