Happy Christmas!
Dec. 25th, 2006 11:25 pmHope everyone who celebrates it had a happy Christmas :-)
Mine was pretty good, apart from watching Love Actually with family and having to listen to my baka of a sister make snide comments throughout the best parts of the movie. I could have done without that, certainly. But the rest was spectacular.
On Sunday my family went on our annual drive around to see Christmas lights. We got a list of "tacky local houses" off the internet and visited three or four on our rounds, and then drive about 20 minutes out of our way to see one especially and weren't disappointed in the least! I know every town has their incredible house, but this one was the most incredible one I've ever seen. It was a really small house on a very small lot. But the yard and roof were covered completely with inflatables. Gigantic (the size of people) ornaments and candycanes hung from the trees. And they convered their front windows into display cases for little Christmas villages. The place was in-fucking-credible! After that, we went home and watched A Christmas Story on DVD, like we do every year.
This morning (after Max and I cuddled in bed for a while- LOL I need a boyfriend!) We opened presents- I got a lot of incredible things that I love and really wanted, and a few things I didn't ask for but love, and one or two things (from my sister) I'm kind of lukewarm about (who buys a vegetarian who hates changing purses a leather purse? It's really incredible how completely opposite we are). But everyone seemed to like what I got them, so that's all I really care about. And my parents were amazed when I gave them the repayment check for the money I owed them for dental bills and such. So that made me feel great! I don't really have the energy to type up everything I got tonight, but I might do that tomorrow.
I gave Maxwell his present- a wand with strings at the end which makes bird-chirping noises when you move it around. He loved it and we played for a good long while.
I took a little nap, then I watched Lady in the Water which did not fail to astound me. M Night Shyamalan is, like, my God. LOL Then we had Christmas dinner (or, rather, I had the vegetable portion of such and avoided the roast completely). I convinced family to watch Love Actually. Mom had already seen it, Dad enjoyed it, and sister, well, see beginning of post. LOL
Thank you VERY much to those of you who sent me gifts! I'll get my thank you e-mails out tomorrow when I'm not so tired and so emotionally drained. But thank you! And I hope everyone had a great day :-)
